Default The right cams for me?

Well i finally finished i/h/e and now its time for some more mods. Now my goals for my car...200whp, but i would be happy with 185. My car is daily driven and has to be reliable. I was thinking of getting skunk2 stage 1's, but i haven't heard much about them on this board. Other cams in mind...

Toda A, B?, Jun 2

My only problem is that i'm on stock compression, so i don't know what would really go good with my car. Eventually i will upgrade my pistons to raise my compression but right now i want to get some cams and i do not want to switch them out later on. The cams i buy now are the only set of cams i want to buy. Anybody here have aftermarket cams on their GSR? And if you do can you please post a dyno of your results?

Do mild cams like toda A, skunk2 stage 1 benefit from raised compression like toda B's do? I heard putting B's into a fairly stock motor is a very BAD idea. I consider my motor fairly stock (i/h/e) so would this be a bad idea? If i put B's in my engine, would they be making the same if not more power than A's?

How would B's do on a 10.8:01 compression ratio? I was thinking of getting a spoon 1-layer head gasket and milling the head 30 thousandths.

Any suggestions are welcome except the following:
1) Go buy a new car
2) Go get a turbo/supercharger
3) Use the search button (already did a search and i'm still not sure whats right for me)

I'm staying n/a and thats what I want to do. I love my car too much to sell it.

Great, i posted this in the integra forum and i didn't get feedback useful to me. I thought that maybe if i posted in the type R forum there would be more technical and better feedback.

What makes your ITR engine so special? It just has a different head and higher compression pistons. I don't see why some type R owners are so cocky

well look at the damn ITR board....75% of it is people asking not ITR related questions. It clutters the board. I'm not saying you post specifically is, but there is a reason for snappy replies.

yes, but it does say INTEGRA TYPE R forum....no?

alot of people here take exception to the fact that we have a lot of trolls that come here and talk **** and know nothing. there are also people that get pissed off at people that post all over the place looking for conversation. and then there's the others who think this should be an exclusive forum for Type R owners.

There are TECH, HYBRID, COMPETITION and INTEGRA forums where you can ask the questions that concern you.

Why does wanting to keep this forum Type R related construe cockiness? Why do people come here expecting a better knowledge base? Why do people get pissed off when they are told the car they are driving is not a Type R? These are questions that you need to figure out.

The Type R forum is not a Honda/Acura information booth.

Go with Toda A or go with Type R cams.

If you ask questions related to your Type R motor, I don't see why not.

[edit]But please don't come in here and ask about which sway bar kit you should get for your car, etc....Like Big Phat R just said, you have a HYBRID, and there is a forum for your car.[/edit]

In before it locks!

Seriously though. Toda B's + toda package + VAFC on stock ITR compression, I've seen a local tune ~190HP + 130lb.ft/tq. Doesn't mean you'll get that by just dropping in Toda B's, but at least it's a start.

So does it have to be a registered R in order to post here? I have a 95 GSR that mostly resembles an ITR than a GSR. In fact I probably have more R equipment on my car than alot of the R owners in here, does that exclude them. I think if your a reliable source of information with inteligent things to say and contribute and you post questions regarding mostly R stuff than this would be the place. I agree the board does get cluttered with non- tech post but the R people contribute to that as much as anyone. It's called a message board and as long as most the info is thought provoking and relative it shouldn't matter what number is stamped on the VIN plate. besides most the people that post in the other forums are jackholes looking for PizImP DOpE HiZaSS IoN BLuEZ WiZiPPer NoZzeLs. Consider it a compliment that people look here for good info.

Enlighten me....I fail to understand the reasoning behind why keeping a forum "model related" construes cockiness on our part? The Type R is different from the GSR....just as the Z-06 is a different car from the LS-1....as the M3 is different from the 330....as is the 911 GT2 is different from the 996.....blah blah blah.

I guess we know more about our cars....is that a crime?

Hmmm, so I guess "ALL" R owners are cocky now... Am I reading this correctly? If so, I guess "ALL" RS owners are bigots.

man you guys are rough.
try searching through the regular integra board to find info on cams....
it'll be a tough search.
and when you do, the feedback isn't as useful/informative.
so what if he's asking you guys cuz he feels you guys would be more help
and would have more knowledge and/or experience dealing with aftermarket cams?
guess that's too much to ask for some of you...

Try Superhomos Online then. They don't give a flying fock what you post there - and that's why it sucks so much.

Protecting the integrity of an open forum is the responsibility of the participants. Most of us have deemed it appropriate that this stay a TYPE R related board.

Repeat after me...TYPE R TYPE R TYPE R

Get it?

Please quit posting so that you don't continue to make a fool out of yourself... There are some cocky Type R owners, and there are also some cocky GS-R owners, etc... You sound like a cocky RS owner to me. Quit acting like all R owners think they are superior...the majority of them do not.

We are flaming you because you're acting like an immature child. If an R owner came in here acting like you are, we would flame him just the same...
