I recently raced a stock Sti, he pulled a 9.33@74.13 in the 1/8 with a 2.0 60', so that should be a decent reference.

tell your friend to lock the dccd and launch between 5500 and 6000rpms. one of my friends sti sucked at the track for the first few runs but then he learned to drive a little bit. he got his launches down to where he was pulling high 1.6's and low 1.7 60 foot times. he was able to get a 13.5 quarter mile.

more or less, its not the RPM you are launching at, its how you launch at what ever RPM you decide to do so. you can launch these cars like hondas, or anything FWD. you have to get the perfect amount of feathering down and once you figure that out no one is going to get you out of the hole. bottom of the line is you cant dump the clutch. in order to see a good launch out of an AWD car, you need to smell clutch when you are leaving the line i used to own a 1G DSM, and with small upgrades i was seeing mid to low 1.6 foots....just learn how to drive it

Sti is fun to race once you get used to launching at high rpm. Car is awd and has sticky tires. Her are some of my best times...STOCK
60' 1.74
1/8 - if your not mid 8 sec or lower, better work on driving....8.3
1/4 13.21 @ 102.47

Tried the rev limit launch...doesn't work too good, easier to launch at 4k and slip a little clutch, that managed me consistent 1.7 60' times and didn't risk snaping an axle while doing it. We have cobb stage 2 and tbe+intake now....no new runs yet. hoping to run 12.6's? idk maybe....
