I am going to check out a 94 GSR in about 2hours, what should I look for? it'll be pretty dark out, and i'm bringing a flashlight.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Well find out how many miles it has and ask when was the last time he replaced his timing belt and water pump. Check the paint for scratches/dings/dents. Unless you want to paint the car a color of your choice.
FLASH LIGHT? ARE U PLANNING TO JACK ONE? IF YOU ARE GET ONE FOR ME TOO!!
JK u better wait till day....dont rush it.

It's night... you can't see it.
Wait till day... that's good advice!

I too highly recommend you wait till the morning where there will be light. You can spot for things such as oil leaks, mismatching body paint, bascially anything fishy or doesn't match up.
Only foolish people will look at a car at night. Wait till the morning.

look in the engine bay and see if theres oil around the engine. look under the engine where the oil pan is and check for drips. listen for the engine and listen if the noise is louder than normal. Youd want the teg as stock as possible. Test drive it, redline it to 8k to see if everything is normal. listen for rattles and decide if you could tolerate it.
Check if engaging gears is fine and if clutch grabs good. take it for a spin in twisties. Do some braking and check if the rotors are warped.
Like they said, check it during the daytime so you could see the dings and dents better. also make sure all the doors and hood have no noticable gap. Do a magnet test (hehe use the magnet around the car as the magnet doesn't stick to putty if the car had a smash.) And checking under the sunlight makes it easier to see paint differences. good luck

i can't believe no one told him about the a pipe rattle. hey if it still has a stock exhaust system on it drive the car and hold it between 3000-4500 rpm's if you here this weird rattle you need a new a-pipe. the dealership will sell you the fix kit for 500+ dollars so use this to your advantage in your price bargaining. good luck
