Default Powerslots Upgrade

I just hit 70K and the my pads are in the warning stage. Sounds like all four wheels are making noise. My front driver side wheel has a deep gash on it (circular line). So I figured since I'm going to replace my rotors, I don't want to spend double. Might as well upgrade, I tried to search "Powerslots" but got a few results. I was looking at Brembo or powerslots as for rotors and maybe AEM pads. Does anyone have some feedback on a similiar setup?

Thanks guy in advance

Josh

Does not compute. You don't want to spend "double" yet you're willing the shell out the extra cash for Powerslots? IIRC, even the stock rotors from Acura will be cheaper than those. Forgot the price on Brembos but it's still more than Autozone rotors.

Out of curiosity, just to help the guy out, did Autozone finally start carrying rear rotor replacements?

I didn't look for them. I'm still on Cobalt rears with loads of life left.

I went with the Willard Legend specials this time in preparation for a bunch of 130 mph plus braking and a hint bigger heat sink so I hopefully don't shatter them like I did at VIR last Feb.

You won't spend double, you'll spend triple the amount for Powerslots -vs- Autozone.

I wish.

We'll see.

My goal is to stay in 4th and 5th unless I'm lacin the boot and commin into turns 8 or 9 or traffic requires the downshift.

You heard me correctly, my goal is to take turn 1 in 4th.

Autozone rotor are a good buy, I actually used them on my old integra 94 RS. They were ok and hella cheap. But I'm starting to do upgrades, and am thinking more towards the future. I've read that powerslots could last for a while depending on usage. I won't be tracking soon but by next year when my car is all done I most certainly will and am making plans to attend my first Expo. To be honest I really like the stock brakes, but it came out to an extra $100 for the powerslots and like $80 more for the brembo, oppose to OEM. I figured spend a little more and get it out of the way.

They've carried them all along. $48.99 each, IIRC.

I've used Powerslot rotors on my other car. They're good. But so are the Autozone rotors, which have lasted just as long (which is the only reason to get one rotor instead of another).

Oh, and I'm not sure why you're replacing your rotors. The only reasons for replacing them is if they're thinner than spec, or if they're cracked. Otherwise, don't bother.

But look at it this way. Even if the Autozones supposedly doesn't last as long as Brembos or Powerslots (especially with a more aggressive brake compound), is it really going to be more cost effective to get the "name" brands? I mean, $25 dollar rotors over $100 dollar rotors. You can replace 'em 4 times before adding up to the bling rotors.

Note, even though I'm preaching the cheap rotor gospel, I may take a slightly more expensive route just because Autozone rotors aren't readily available for my car and the price difference isn't "huge".

Three of the rotors look fine and can be resurfaced, but the Front driver side has this weird gash in it. its about a cm wide and go all the way around. I have no clue how it happened, I really don't do heavy braking but its there I might just sell them to a friend and make up the difference.

Oh, forgot to mention I'm was quoted $300 for all four rotors slotted (front and rear) and the AEM pads were $60.

Something hard might've gotten in between the pad and rotor. Small rock or whatnot. It happens.
