anyone use their R for a commuter car?
My commute to work is 65 miles each way, wonder if it's worth it. so
130 miles/day X 5 days X 50 weeks = 32500 miles a years
****, it's a lot.
as far as gas price let's say i get average 26 mpg,
that's 1250 gallons of gas at $2.5 = $3125 dollars in gas a year.
didn't noticed until i did the math..

I do. I drive about 100km each day. My R has 130,000 km on it and its been stored every winter. Get this: I've never even had to change the brake pads or the washer fluid (actually washer fluid I just put some in for the first time last month). I've dragged the car quite often and tracked it only a few times.
50 miles one way to my office from home everyday. Plus misc. runs to job sites around the Chicago area, as needed. on 10k/6k suspension. No complaints to mention, other then my car burns oil. My car still gets over 30 mpg on 87 octane, @135k mile and compression is still above 215-220 across the board.
135 is the miles it takes me to go to work 3 times a week and go to school 2 times a week.
get a beater!
geo metro's would work great. 3 cylinder..3 LONG gears. 30 whp. all that would equal great gas mileage

Yea my R is my daily driver.... hopefully I can get a Beater once I get out of college and will be able to park the R for most of the year except fun times aka tracking.

Beaters rule. I have 265k on my 1991 Accord and it still runs like a dream, getting over 30 mpg.
I commute 30 miles each way to school five days a week. I've put about 24k on my Accord in a little less than two years and only 9k on my R in a little over two years.
It's a great peace of mind to not have to worry about my R.

I just bought another daily driver though. A 2005 Subaru 2.5 RS wagon
Just drive it until the wheels fall off

Wow, you must have one of the highest mileage ITR's out there. Is that mileage without an engine rebuild? Wow, I'm impressed.

87 octane?
87 octane?
I commute only for the drive.
My motivation to go in, is getting into the car. My motivation to leave, is driving home in the car.
It's a sad life...
