Yeah I know that, but the maximum time we usually park our car somewhere doesn't exceed 3 hours and that is the time you take when you watch a movie and have dinner together.
I got a garage at home, I got insurance, I got a viper alarm, I got the club, and I just ordered the Powerlock.
I'm only worried about the car being stolen when I go out, and I hope the viper alarm, club, and powerlock combo should be enough to prevent the car being stolen when we just go out for errands, a movie, dinner, and etc.

what the hell man u just made this thread and u have another thread about "best security system"
WHAT A WASTE..
WHAT A WASTE..
$269.00 ???
Wow that's pricey for a cut off...
I could make a fuel, ing and starter cutoff and still have $250 left...
Good luck on that, by no means do I want to step on any toes.

You know what is more of a waste.
Your stupid no point comment.

I'm not a technician so I don't know, but I just called the guy, his name is Rick from the 1800 number on their website. The unit has rotating codes that can't be bypassed. Read more or call them if you want more information, but it sounds like a great product to me.

Yeah. But this product comes with a 10,000 guarantee and it is not just a simple cut-off system if you read more about the product. You know it is not smart to make assumptions when you don't know anything for sure. Like assuming that I didn't search on my other post when I did and again assuming that this system is like a normal cut-off, which it is not.

Actually this device really works because it prevented my R from being stolen..I was actually the first R owner to try this system about 5 years ago, so said the owner of the company, as he was just starting out.I don't have it on the car anymore but if i remember correctly there was some sort of solenoid valve that becomes permanently attached to your starter. If you don't use the special keypod to complete the circuit and open up the solenoid valve, the starter will not be energized and the car won't start..I know i'm using laymens terms but you get the idea. I will try to find some old paperwork on it when i get home..

any device you can install can also be removed/taken out by a thief correct?? thats my concern about this product...
looks like a worth while investment. now just get a titanium chain and stick it in 10 feet of concrete and wrap it around your R 10 times and it should be very safe. Also set up some security in the garage to make a noise by motion aka motion sensors..

I think all ITR owners can just do the best that you can to prevent the car from being stolen. These guys have a 10,000 guarantee and are sanctioned in Canada and they claim that none of the cars they installed have ever been stolen.
I think that is as good as you are going to get. If worse case scenario, the dam thief still steals the dam car, then you still have your last way out which is your insurance.
With a garage to park the car safe for long periods of time, this system installed, and insurance, the 10,000 guarantee, I can now enjoy the car like it is meant to be enjoyed. I don't think there are any more fun driving economical cars to drive out there than a modded all motor Type R, especially after considering all the variables of owning one such as for its price and maintenance costs, fun factor, and handling.

You are pretty naive thinking a 'guarantee' is going to save your car. all the marketing claims seem to have excited you. Since when are marketing claims real?
I can think of a few other security systems that have guarantees... lojack for instance.
There's only 5,000 security threads in this forum already btw.

Hey idiot. You can only do your best to try to prevent car theft. I have achieved that. If the car still gets stolen, then I still got my insurance, but I have done my best to prevent it from happening. If they somehow manage to tow the car on the flatbed in a car lot while I'm watching a movie in a theater with my viper alarm system and this system installed, then heck there is not much more I can do, is there?
Oh and the threads on security, I've read them. Nothing on the powerlock system though BTW BTW.
And since when are marketing claims real? Since when are they not? Ever heard of lawsuits on false claims?
Naive, your the idiot talking about something you haven't even read about. The object of your post is to what? Yeah....... exactly.

This device might be more effective with automatic transmission cars, because if all it does is preclude use of the starter ... then the thief would simply push-start the car!

thank you for being a valued member of this community. Your insistence on ridiculously long, useless posts are just what we need here. Just as your uninformed purchases show only one thing: that you have an abundance of money to spend. Same can be said for TWO security threads.. and there have been some really informative security threads here over the years, and about 5x more crap from those people who dont bother to read what has already been posted.
Did I resort to insults? (now i have) No. I simply mention that guarantees and claims are not why you should buy a system. Your naive and innocent trust in a security system guarantee and insistence that NO theft has taken place on a car with this system installed - well - pretty sad. I seem to remember others have a really bad time with some other systems and their so-called 'guarantee'. But of course that doesn't apply to you b/c you are the great and powerful stick-e-rice! Love me for all my mods and love for everyone!
What's the point of all your rambling threads? To get attention? Show off your wallet and bling bling you buy? Nothing positive as far as I can see.
MY point is that there is only one thing you can do no matter how safe you are with your security systems - dont draw attention to your car, dont park it at a mall/movie theater, or major city street. You can just feel that a few security appointments will make everything right-o and viola! you can drive your R anywhere without worry of attention from theives.
As others have said - cars can get flatbedded away. In fact I'm sure that is what happens in most cases. You can't really prevent against a theif that WANTS your car - they will get it one way or another - all you can do it lock it up in a garage and not persistently park in public places.
but what do i know? stick-e-crap thinks im an idiot!

The point of the post is for a review on the powerlock system.
This was your comment.

The question is for remarks on the dam powerlock system. Not about your opinion on how smart I am. You want to prove I'm naive, stick to the facts. Your comment has no sense in it. It is based on assumptions that are not even stated here.
You are an idiot. You are proving it here again.
Second, how is the purchase of a cut off system an uninformed purchase. Read.....I think you need to. Go read about the powerlock system. Does it prevent theft by 100%? Probably not. Is it sufficient as an added measure if you don't park the car unsecured for a long time. I'm thinking yes that is why I just bought one. At least it decreases the odds of it getting stolen, I know that much.
So please explain your view with just facts. Stick to them. Don't get personal on me. If you make an intelligent comment and prove that I am wrong, I would thank you and accept the ignorance on my part.
But from an idiot like you? Sorry..........it is just too tempting. The claims made on the product were passed on to me by the owner of the product. I don't represent Powerlock, but it seemed as one of the better ones out there to have installed if you are thinking about getting one. Why don't you call them up and tell them that. I thinik they will laugh at you because at least they have the brains to come up with an invention and contribute, rather than talk to someone like you that has no concrete or contributing ideas of your own besides negative say.
Your personal remarks about showing off, I think it reflects more on how insecure you are about your own dam wallet. You view other people showing pictures of their car as showing off. I think it is more your insecurity. A type R is wow such a "show off" especially a used one that I bought.
Type R and Hondas are high on the theft mark. Cars can get towed on a flatbad no matter what you have installed. So I guess the smart thing to do is not to install anything to try to prevent it. So I guess the smart thing is to not buy the car at all. Is that what you are saying? I hope not. It will prove the fact you are more of an idiot than I thought.
If you are going to discredit me, its going to take more brains than you currently have. Don't try, its too much a strain on you. Trust me.
Man, the posts here are getting so heated lately.
I do not have a review for you sorry. Just an opinion.
Personally, I'm all for layering the security of my car. If some thief has to take time and figure out all my security features then great. Just gives me that much longer to call the cops and grab a golf club.
This system is only $250.00. What is the harm? Hell of a lot cheaper than a full alarm (though it should not be your only security device). I'm reading up on this product right now for consideration.
Put it in and try it out and tell us how well it works.

Just so you know, that type of guarantee is usually "up to" a certain dollar amount. Those guarantees usually only cover the deductible on your insurance policy - it's not like they're going to cut you a check for $10,000 if your car is stolen.

Yeah I know. I just want something that gives me piece of mind when I decide to go to the movie in the car.
Not driving the car freely, kind of beats the purpose of owning one. I really like the type R. Oh well, if the car still gets stolen with this system I just bought while I'm at the movies, I will be sure to inform everyone else here on HT.
Still...........I want to make it dam difficult for those bastards.
It is weird because car theft back home, is not even close to the big issue it is here. I didn't believe it until I had two friends who had a Honda Civic stolen from his apartment complex while he was asleep that he bought for 2500 stock before it was modded and another friend of mine that had a prelude with a set of rims stolen while he was at the mall for an hour an a half.
The guy with the civic had an alarm system, but the guy with the prelude didn't. Still, it scares me with the statistics that are presented these days.
I guess you only try to do the best to deter it, but I think it is still better than not doing anything.

How about not driving the car to public places?
Take a beater, it seems like you want everybody to think you're a baller anyways, so why not get a beater, whats the point of dealing with the hassle?
