Default Wrong part number ( auto zone ) std axles, 1.5 hatchback

Just thought I would pass this information on for other people.

Auto zone list the wrong part numbers for the 89 hatch std, they basically only list 1 part for all the hatch backs and there all the same. This should be nation wide, the manufacture.

Basically they have them listed under the 89 crx 1.5

Just for future reference if anyone needs new axles from auto zone.

When I went to go get mine, I told them 89 CRX HF. They work beautifully in my 88 Hatch Std.

You could always just pickup a set of used DX/SI knuckles with the brakes... may aswell do an upgrade.

When its a customers car they usually just want to replace the axles.

Yeah like I said, the crx ones fit, the ones ment for the car do not.

autozone gave me a clutch for my d15 about 24" diameter and ddouble.triple checked the part number...it was like a semi clutch. To cut a long story short I work for advance auto now.

hell yeah me too bro!! lol we get people in here all the time telling us that they've gotten the wrong thing from autozone... or like the other day a guys truck died on him in traffic and wouldnt start back up... i helped him push his truck into a nearby parking lot and found out that he had bought a starter from them and it worked for no more than two days and a similar thing had happened to him when he bought an alternator there two weeks prior to that... he came into advance the next day and i sold him a starter and he hasnt complained yet

man we live on autozones customers lol. Our store is right across the store from them, our store is fairly new and theres has been there for 11 years, so bascailly we get all their pissed off customers, which is enough to do 5-6 grand a day lol.

I have yet to get a bad part from Autozone (I shop the appropriate parts online prior to going to the location), although we do not have Advance where i live, so a comparison would be difficult for me. The only thing Pep Boys are good for is accessories like side markers and trim paint and touchup stuff. Checker is only good for fluids, and only then when they are on sale. Meyers (import specialist, mostly Honda and VW) is good for all the little stuff that none of the others have, but they can get expensive for specialty parts.

Gotta love LV for the ODD collection of shops.
