Default Advan A048's installed!

Advan A048 - 205/55 and 225/50 Medium-Hard Compound

yes i know factory size is 245/45 equivalent but i wanted to dial out some understeer. the 225 is as wide as the factory 225 S-02 but the A048 205 is wider to match.
So...

they are very stiff. I will update as they scuffed in as to traction but initial cornering is very fun. they look very agressive on the car (who cares if they dont). road noise is a bit more. a slight whining sound (not a diff problem...car didnt do it with s-02's on). i'm sure i'll have a rain report soon too.

You running these on stock wheels? I wish they would come out with the some more sizes in 17" so I could run a set on my MF10's.

Oh man my favorite tires! Good choice. I swear by these things...

Turn in feels sharper than stock RE050s. I like the progressive feel when I get stupid on the car, tossing it around ramps n stuff. But alas, they are in the garage again. I'm rolling on stockies to the shop.

BTW Update on the rain performance. Not like I'd ever take these out in the rain, but info would be nice.

Do you really have to ask how they'd do in the rain?

Ok, buddy, let us know how it goes. Just don't go sliding under semi's, like the other guy.

Ill try it someplace where there's nothing to hit. There's a huge Costco parking lot by my house that I stop by sometimes when I'm bored. Good place to let out some froggyness.

I used these on my DB2 Integra. The sidewalls are very stiff (more so than any other tire that I have used) and they are very loud. HeHe! Other than that they are the best (grippiest) tire that I have ever used. Superior grip and response, especially after you warm them up. If you drive in the rain use caution !

well they are scuffed now!

how incredible! these tires have made me fall in love with this car all over again. I used to think that this car handled well.

not even close.

the 205/225 combo takes out just the right amount of understeer. the car is much more point and shoot. the sidewalls are stiff...but not to bad.

but holy cow the grip is incredible.

also the rears dont break away and back snap like the s-02's did. i always felt the s-02 are what made the stock ap1's feel so nervous. because they tend to loose and re-gain grip very suddenly. and when they grab again the rear end tends to wiggle a bit. that feeling is definitely gone now. grip is very progressive at the limit.

highly reccomended fro skilled drivers!!

Hey, that guy was casually shifting into second and all of a sudden ended up under a semi. It could happen to anybody.

Enthalpy - are these your everyday tires? If so, you must have some deep pockets! I'm guessing tread wear is about as good as RT215 Azenis, and at $180-200 a tires, that's a pretty expensive 10k miles. It'd make everyday commute pretty fun, though. Are you going to track these tires at all? I'd like to hear how they do on a road course/auto-x.

10k on A048s? More like... 1k. I wish their treadwear was like the Azenis.

I figure the only time they will see the streets is when I drive to the tracks. Medium Hard should fare a bit better than the Medium compounds.

they should. i forget what ra1's qualify as but many users put about 5k street miles with 5-6 track days on them before they are done

Neova's treadwear is 180 vs OEM RE050's 140. You think they'd actually last longer and still be OK in the rain? If not I'll just go cheap on GForce KDW 2's.
