Default hazard switch more than just a switch?

Hey guys, I'm thinking about doing a custom display in my dash, and I need to remove my hazard lights switch and clock to do so. Is the hazard switch *just* a switch? I'm only asking cause I see 10 wires running into it, and that seems like a little much for just a switch.

You will lose your turn signals if you remove your hazard button. The YEL/BLK wire on the hazard plug powers your turn signals. I'm not sure what else the hazard button does.

thank you very much guys, that's what I was wondering. Now I'm just wondering if there's some way to connect those wires under the dash in order to keep the turn signals working, or if the button really is a relay of some sort..

pretty sure it is required, i have nver heard of anyone wanting to change that, why dont u just fab a new button on it or something, i honestly wouldnt try to cut any wires on my hazard.

you never know when u might need ur hazards, me and a friend were going down the road and found a guy who got hit by car, he had no hazards on his car and someone almost hit him.

Why not keep the switch connected and hide it inside your dash?

I was thinkin about that, but I'm not sure I'm gonna have room.. the dash is going to have to be altered pretty seriously, so I'm not sure I'll have a place to hide it.
