B16 or h22 gearbox for h22 CRX?
I hear lots of mixed discussions about which gearbox to use for this h22 into CRX 88-91 swap. The theory seems to be b16 is lighter and has closer ratio's but I would of thought I would be having to do more rebuilds with this setup although this wouldnt deter me if I could get some better times. Of course this would need a gearbox adaptor plate which would add an extra cost to the project.
The recent article in SCC showed hasport opting for the h22 gearbox (preferably the JDM spec with LSD), I believe they issued a part code also.
Can anyone also confirm whether all JDM spec H22a transmissions come with an LSD?
Please share your thoughts on this, would be great to set some people looking to do this swap straight on this matter.
Thanks in advance

M2B4 LSD tranny was a lucky find that I got and I am impressed how the gearing is on it, its what I am running in my h22 crx. My advice would be to get the h22 LSD tranny M2B4 and spend the extra $ on boost.
The M2B4 has slightly taller 4th and 5th gear ratios (than the m2f4 USDM), it will be a bit slower accelleration in those gears.
Refer to this recent thread at the bottom of the page for the H vs B series transmissions discussion. IMO think the jury is still out on the H2B but they make some strong arguments for them.
