Type-R's, Drag Racing and LOTS of CLICKY-POW pixors (56k = No)
Saturday the greater Seattle area had the 'Battle Of The Imports' at Pacific Raceway in Kent. The day started off looking pretty drab. On top of this ill looking weather, all the local weather men were spouting off their predictions for precipitation.
I was under the impression that the races were not being held until the 28th. I was wrong. Chris (white rocket) contacted me via IM to check the date. While I was looking this stuff up in the internet little did I know that he and the girlfriend was already on their way down from Vancouver. An hour and a half before the event is to start, I contact him by phone and we decide to meet at Dicks Frive-In off of 45th St. by the U district.
To my delite, I got to meet a fellow R owner and HT'er in person, and his lovely, laid back girlfriend. Both quality people. I wish I had more Canadian friends
.
To make a long story short, I was pleasently suprised to see that I wasn't the only one driving a Type-R there. Yes folks, there are still plenty of R's in the Seattle area. Off the top of my head I saw four or five R's excluding my own. There was even one from Oregon, and a fellow that drove his down from Canada.
There was plenty of chrome, rice, and girlies on hand. In the first two hours we were there, there were six blown engines. There also seemed to be a huge misunderstanding with racers on how to properly line up their cars to stage. Must have been in the water. Entertaining none-the-less. Also, the announcer gave us a few good laughs when he called a 240SX a Subaru, a 2nd-gen 4-door Civic a Prelude, and an Accord Wagon an Accord Hatchback to name a few.
After sitting in the hot sun (not even close weather guys) for a few hours and walking around the pits for a bit, we headed off to Black Angus in Federal Way for a quality dinner. After dinner we said our good byes to each other and Chris and his girlfriend went on their way to stay in Seattle to get a good rest for a day full of shopping. Myself, raced all the way back to the Raceway to thankfully, catch the bikini contest as it was just starting up.
Bikini Contest: All I can say is that the contest was much better in person and judging by the sheer amount of pictures I took, it's safe to say that my picture taking finger had something for the girl in the pink bikini. The winner (the girl in the pink bikini) took home a $200.00 cash prize. Chump change for the stage dance she put on.
Disclaimer: There is no nudity obviously. I did edit the pictures in a way to sell off the girls best features and to cut out all the bullshit like all the high school boys in the background with mouths agape and the fat hip-hopped out DJ's on the stage. If you do not like pretty girls in bikinis then don't scroll past the car pictures. For those of you out there who enjoy seeing a pretty girl, well....enjoy!
(No captions from me. Draw your own conclusions)
Well enough talking.... How about some R's and some cars ( actually have a ton more of these pictures in higher resolutions but I ran out of host space) ?

Sweetness, and the cars are pretty nice too.
Nice meeting up with you finally
. We'll have to do it again real soon. The R is comin' out no matter what next time.
