Default eibach lowering springs

I just recently installed a set of eibach pro kit lowering springs in my 90 crx and I have noticed that the ride is very very rough. So rough in fact that it has managed to destroy the cd player in my car!

I have 175, 000km's on the honda factory struts and I replaced the rear struts with new monroe pieces.

I figure that the front struts are probably hooped and so I ordered a new front pair of Tokico blue's.

Can anyone here provide me some feedback as to what good suspension setup I can achieve with my newly installed springs?

I intend to remove those cheap monroe struts in the future when more funds are available.

Thanks

rough huh?

i noticed a big increase in stiffness when i went from stock to eibach prokits on my crx too. i also installed tokico illuminas at the same time. however, i quickly got used to it. its expected of course that the ride gets stiffer. ive found out that the rates really are what they say, only about 20% stiffer than stock. all in all, i really liked my ride with Pro kits, great for street, i had fun on track and autox, and i rarely bottomed out or scraped my car.

but anyway, let me ask you something, do you get a lot of suspension clunk, especially on the passenger side? like when you go over bumpy road or drive over a crack on the road or onto a driveway with slightly raised asphalt?

if so, you probably need to replace your steering rack end bushing. that greatly accentuates rough riding, because it allows extra play in the suspension.

same as with if you had a worn balljoint.

i suggest you check it out.

no i don't get any clunks of any sort when driving fast or slow. I get a wheel alignment done by honda every two years and they always check that stuff for me and they say my suspension/steering components are like new.

I am led to believe that my front struts are done. 175, 000km's on the original struts is getting up there anyways...

Too bad back then I had to replace the rear struts with crappy monroe ones...

I just installed Tokico blues on the front my of 90 crx si and those combined with my eibach pro kit lowering springs makes for a decent ride. My suspension is no longer slamming my chassis and even on the big bumps its not nearly as bad!

Tokico for price is not too bad.

Tokico Blue and Eibach SportLine Civic owner here... rough ride, but it's not too bad. Drive it everyday, with no problems.

Yeah, they're a bit lower than the Pros.

i love my pro-kit, it doesn't slam the car to the ground and to me has a great ride feel. I would definitely change out those shocks for some aftermarket ones.
