Intake cam still won't move to TDC on my b18b.
Just like the title says. I had this problem a few days ago and somone told me that I should just move my crank between tdc and bdc, because they thought it was just my valve that was hitting the top of my piston. But, I just got a chance to work on my car today and I tried that, but it still doesn't work. I just loosened up my cam holders and I could move it. But there is still great difficulty in doing so. Also, once I tighten those cam holders down, I probably won't be able to move the cam again. Anyone here work with LS engines alot??? Maybe I got the wroong rocker arms in the wrong side??? This is very frustrating. It's the only damn thing that's holding me back from finishing my damn car!!!!!!!
P.S. - FYI, I just got my head back on, and I'm just trying to get everything aligned at TDC so I can get my timing belt back on.

i had this problem when installing ctr cams. they had skunk gears on them and the skunk gears had two markings for tdc. Try the other one if your in the same boat.

i'm assuming you have the white mark on the crank pulley lined up to the timing mark on the lower timing belt cover.
are you sure you have the intake cam caps in the correct order? 5-4-3-2-1 (timingbelt side)
do you have the distributor on? try removing the distributor and then tighten the cam caps down. sometimes the distributor tooth that goes into the intake cam binds and will make it hard to turn.
also since you had the head removed which you probably mixed up the lifters you should remove ALL the lifters and loosen the locking adjusting nuts and loosen them all the way up. if you mixed them up i guarentee they are way to tight and are causing the camshaft not to turn. been there......done than.....
good luck.

Do you mean the the nuts on the rockers?? Also, do the rockers need to be in any certain order??? I just noticed that on the side of them, that there are some numbers.
Also, yes, I have the cam caps in the correct order.

well they have numbers on them but they usually dont mean they are in any particular order. but it would always be best to put them back into the same place they came out of. if you put some of the ones that were from the exhaust side onto the intake side the valve clearences will be way off and it could bind on the lobe of the cam or the base circle.
just loosen all the nuts and use the screw driver to loosen the lifters all the way out. then tighten the cam down. then set your valve clearence.

So, what you're saying is that my clearances are probably off and I should do a valve adjustment?? It makes sense in my head, but would the clearances be that extreme in difference where it just won't even budge though??

well yes............you should do a valve adjustment. but loosen all the adjusters so that you can tighten the cam down. that might be your problem.
