Theft attempt #2 *sigh, stupid thieves*
So my friend came home late last night, really late. He usually gets a garage space where he lives so that the R can hide away and be protect from everything outside. Since he wasn't around, his uncle took over the space in the garage. There's no where else to park so outside was the only option.
He messaged me at night telling me that he tried to sleep but the paranoia kept him awake almost all night. He would trigger the alarm's 2-way pager every 15-30 minutes as to give me that secure feeling that the car is still there and ok. Finally at 4:30am he gave in because the sun was about to come up.
His uncle woke up at 7am so he's pretty sure that this happened between 4:30 to 6:30am last night.
Anyways, the attempted thief broke the weather strip/moulding thing between the door and the window. I removed it later and found that some of the clips on it were either damaged or broken off. I did my best to sort of stuff it back in so that it would hold and not look that damaged for the time being. But from the pictures below you can see what happened:

Just a friendly warning to everyone out there: DO NOT PARK YOUR ITRs outside where people can see it! Garage your car!!!

another layer is to set the proximity sensor up a notch. not sure is that alarm has it or not... usually the higher end alarms has a digital proximity sensor that you can remotely adjust.
important for those single days where you just need to have it outside.

Mine doesnt have a proximity sensor, but my pager keeps my mind at peace, as it is very loud and if anything happens it screams at me, and i tell you im out like a dam flash.
Sometimes its a tad annoying tho.. it reminds me every time i press "unlock" or "lock" and every time i start the car it reminds me i have just done so.. lol

At least it didn't get stolen. I can't wait for the day a theif gets caught in the act and gets their asses kicked. Till then everyone just layer that security.

those thieves have been watching you and theyre waiting for you to slip. they dont just go around and end up at the right place at the right time.
i guarantee you. next time you leave your car outside again, something will get stolen. either just parts or the whole car.

At least it wasn't stolen, and thieves suck.

^^^ This is simply pathetic. He shouldn't have borrowed your car.

Thieves will be thieves, If there was no demand, ITRS wouldn't be stolen., You can thank your average 17 year old pimply civic driver. He wants your parts, and he will buy them, stolen or not.
So next time you go to the local races, car events/ whatever and see a rusted old piece of **** with a B18C5 , ITR interior, and a 5lug setup kick them in the face for us.
PS- Shoot him my way if u run into him, ill hand him the keys. I can't seem to sell my mint 01, its a wary market here in canada.... i wouldnt mind collecting an insurance check.
haha

The uncle owns the house but doesn't really live there, it's sorta like his summer retreat. My friend just lives there, pays rent, pays the bills, and goes to school like any other early 20-yr-old. Just so happens the uncle came over and occupied the garage since my friend was gone for a few days.
And oh yeah, he didn't "borrow" the R from me lol, he owns it.
His guesses are that:
1. people know there's a 'nice' car there although it's usually in the garage when he is around
2. potential thieves are just waiting for the right moment to strike- once in a while chance when the car is out of the garage
3. this is the 2nd theft attempt on this same car at the very same location.
But yeah, he's grateful that the car wasn't stolen vs. replacing a stupid $81 dollar moulding.
