I've seen a stock 1990 B18A1 dyno at 112 whp and 108 ft/lbs of torque.

the red lines are pretty much stock.......it only had a filter on a stick intake and crush bent exhaust.

well thats definently not stock...anyways I did mine with just a filter and universal muffler...so nothing big. Anyways it was 121 hp and 111 tq I believe. The torque fell off quickly after 5400 rpms, you can also feal it in first gear, right at 5500 rpms, kinda bogs. a 4-1 header helped a bit but I have not actually dynoed since then.

my '95 RS spun the rollers to 125.5hp and 109.6tq with a DC Sports DAC and some timing advance. I think it has a wednesday motor

That's a hell of an engine!

That's right up there with a lot of mildly modded GS-R's.

And, the mildly modded LS's seem to be only at a 20hp loss, while the GS-R's are losing more than 25 - 30hp. There's no way the trannies could be that different to have such a differential in driveline loss. I think Honda pussied out on the GS-R's. It's either that, or the intakes & exhausts are really that restrictive.

accually the GS-R tranny is much better. 4'th gear gives you a better/closer 1:1 ratio compared to the LS tranny.

the LS tranny is only good for high boost turbo......for N/A it really blows......

Yeah, they pussied out on the GSR, what about the LS? Ive never seen a bolt on equipped LS motor put down 161 untuned, have you

non-VTEC, the 152 WHP run has always been an impressive one for an LS motor... but I can't wait for the numbers on your new setup!

u say honda "pussied out" on the GSR's, lol, right, to each one of yall that said that, do yall have a GSR?? prolly not, and till u find a stock LS and put it on a dyno and it pushes 145 horses and 133 lbs torque and until u spank a GSR then dont say nothing....

If you put a GSR tranny in a LS and have a GSR with LS tranny the GSR gets walked every time! So what does that tell you, the tranny and gearing is what makes the difference. Even if you matched up a LS with GSR tranny and a GSR with the same mods, it will be a lot closer race than LS vs. GSR with stock trannies!

for one, who would do that, who would by a gsr or a ls just to put another tranny in it, for one its not cheap, and i bet, if i put the same mods as a ls has, and the ls has a GSR tranny, i will walk on him, they dont make GSR's just for the name, GSR's have different internals then the LS, and the tranny doesnt make the motor the motor makes the tranny, if u have no horses in the motor and u have some bad tranny, r u goin n e where?? no, u gotta have a good motor and internals, just not a good tranny, or they would of not made a GSR, they would of put a different tranny in the LS and not make GSR's...

Does that even make sense? Whoever said that is just talking out of his a$$. Both cars have different redlines and different powerbands. In order to find out the answer, all you have to do find out what RPM the GSR will land on after every shift @ 8000RPM with a LS tranny, and compare the powerbands. Maybe off the line, the LS will get the GSR (switched trannnies), but beyond that, the LS would just TOTALLY fall flat on its face because it can't even use up the shorter gearing...

Thats what im saying man. My 95 GSR with basic boltons and a stock ECU makes 161/136, dont see too many i/h/e LS motors doing that.

well im pretty sure my LS will beat plenty of gs-r's. its not only the motor but also the driver. if u cant use the horse's right then they dont matter now do they. hell my Ls can put out over 200 whp, but only matters if i can drive. WHAT?

Wow, those are some impressive HP numbers! Looks similar to a stock GSR.

Which Crowers did you install? Did you increase the compression? How many MPG did you lose?
