Default k20 or GSR? for my ek

want to know wats a good swap? the k20a or the gsr? can u get ur car BAR with the k20a? caus i know the GSR motor you can, but does any know if you could on the K20a? also wats a better deal and a good swap for my EK. i know that the k20a is expensive, but is it worth the time and money? with so many modification is it worth it? i could get a GSR motor for 2400 complete swap and i might be able to get my hands on at k20a for 5G if am lucky. wat do guys think i should do? k20a or GSR? i would go with the gsr if you can get it for 2400. the gsr in a ek would be a pretty good setup. do u plan on going with boost or allmotor?

for the price to get a k20 to drop in will cost pretty much up there...for that price i'll invest it in the gsr and be quicker....and the gsr is less headaches than the k20...but if you got all the money in ther world, ill put it in a k20...

Search is your friend.
There was a topic on this recently, and one guy priced out the k20 swap, and it came close to $8,000~ for him to get the k20 in and running in his car.

SO, if you have the money, get the K, cause K series is the future.. they are very responsive to mods. I know if i had money, ide sell my b18c1 and drop in a k20.. Not to say that im not happy with my GSR hatch, because i am, i love it.. but 20hp from an intake on a k20? wtf!

with the money it would cost to swap a k20 in you could have built a gsr and be waaaaay faster......and since it seems like you dont have the money or knowledge, id get a gsr

Are you saying that an intake on a K20 will give you 20hp? cuz if so I would love to see some proof. If not then nevermind.

To the OP, for me at least it would all come down to money and what I wanted to accomplish with the motor/car. IMO if you want to stay NA then K20a and if you want FI then GSR.

For the money and the power I would do the H22, even if you done like it. It's close to the same power class as the k20 for half the price. Even less then a GSR swap. But between the two I would go for K20. It will be around for much longer.

already been proved.. k motors get almost 20hp just from a cai. just the way the motor is set up. but B and H motors get more hp off the headers then a K motor.

Hey, I say go for the K20A.

for two simple reasons:
1) they kick the **** out of any other swap you can put in that car.
2) I have one for sale.

No, not the type-s either.

PM me for details.

K20 is the creme de la creme of swaps... Stock k20 with kpro, intake and exhaust 220+ to the wheels easy... Nice smooth powerband much easier to control in and out of vtec than a high HP b series... Lots of potential in the K..... Set your rev limiter to a reasonably safe limit and you'll be OK...

Only drawback is first gear is useless at the track.... Just launch it in second

lol, got dyno sheets? Ive spent wayyy to much time on ClubRSX and have never seen real world dyno proof of 20hp gain from only CAI. Stock 02-04 RSX-S are around 170whp (give or take). With just a CAI most dynos are around 180whp.

Check this thread for some K20 dynos.

http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=299528

The one at the bottom of the first page is a perfect example.

Im not trying to make this a big deal, just trying to correct what I believe to be misinformation. If you can show proof (multiple dynos like I did) then I will change my stance.

Get the K definetly, but mount kits are expensive.

Everybody got that B-series swap, do something different.
