Default can you hurt anything running too rich?

Asside from the obvious lack of power, poor gas milage, stinky exhaust, and the whole 'FLAMING EXHAUST' thing...

my car runs veeeerry rich when at partial throttle, at high RPM (5.5K rpm +). What is the downside of this, besides that listed above?

Fouled plugs, Clogged cat.

All in all, you'd rather run rich than lean. But obviously, neither is good...

after i got done racing a guy in a fixed up s10 today he said why does you car stink so bad....i figured it was either because i run so rich or it was the injector cleaner that i put in with this tank full.

After responding to the other post about an O2 sensor code, it occurred to me that you could probably also damage the O2 sensor if you are runnning REALLY rich...

look at your spark plugs and the engine to see if your flooding it, its good to run rich, all h22a's run rich, but not too rich. my car stinx too when hitting vtec, gotta remeber that your cam shaft lobes reverse when hitting vtec thus adding more fuel into the combustion chamber.

your cams lobe is at a higher output when ingaging in vtec, while in vtec you tend to burn more oil and gas due to the change in timing.
