how to prolong cv boot life

Default how to prolong cv boot life

is there anything i can use on the boot itself to make it last longer. Seems like every winter i get a cracked boot.

Its probly from salt? or just the Freezeing cold. Keep the car in a garage if possible.

Dont lower your car, and wash the undercarrage as much as possible.

What kind of boot are you using? Is it one of the crappy split boots or a real boot? I've noticed that, as you would expect, the split boots have a high failure rate.

Use OEM honda ones, not the autozone crap..

its the real boot, i just changed the dang axel yesterday, it was a pain. the winters here in tennessee are cold.

All the axle boots i have had have always lasted. . we have some harsh winters her in NY

Yeah really, in NJ they use rock salt and everything and all of mine have lasted at least 10 years 125k. How odd.

i think its the small rocks and dirt from these country roads that get kicked up and ****.
