AP2 with AP1 cam and ecu?
Hello,
This is my very first post under this screen name here. I used to post a bit a few years back then i got out of the scene. Just yesterday, i test drove an S2000 for the first time and i fell in love. I will probably be leasing one for business under Hondas special lease special. OK lets get to the point.
Ive seen one or two people mention the use of an AP1 ecu in an AP2 but the post was very vague. I TRIED SEARCHING but no results. Is this a feasible modification and why type of gains would i typically see.
Also i tried seearching for cam specifications and couldnt find anything. What are the differences in cam specifications and are they swappable?
Thanks,
Alex

if you rev the 2.2L engine on an ECu that's from the 00-03 S2k, you'll blow it up.
If you're leasing, you shouldn't have any plans to modify.

Thats a sad thought. I couldn't handle it.

Yes i realize the AP2s 90+mm stroke may be a bit sketchy revving at 9000rpms but who said i would be doing that?
Yes i will lease, but i am leasing to take advantage of the special lease terms and extensive tax write-offs available. i will probably end up purchasing.
now back to the question.

that is true, some people have been lucky when they rev past 8000rpms on the ap2 motor, and some havent fared to well either.

BTW, AP2 cams provides better low to mid range power, so don't be suprised if you find your mid-range lacking after you swap over the cams.
