You would have to read the FIA rules but 90% of the FIA cages i have seen lack a diagonal brace.
So if you were racing in an FIA sactioned event it would be legal. But if you were racing with the SCCA or NASA you could possibly run it for one year, if the seller provided you with a current log book, but if he didn't, then the SCCA/NASA rules say the cage must meet there requirments.

Very true. Unfortunately, I'm not in the market for another B-series hatch, but I will direct them this way, since this one seems nice

what i want to know is why does it to conform to FIA, and not SCCA.. i think i'd trust myself in the hands of the FIA before i'd trust myself in the SCCA.. (runs and hides for fear of massive debate..)
I build this car in the first place, to participate in the Hankook touring car championship, I had the car inpected by the FAQ inspector, and everything was in norms ( if any of this can help )...

i know about why it won't conform, it's just interesting.. that is all..
i mean, if FIA approves a lot of motorsports, from rally racing to formula 1...
whatever. it doesn't really matter to me, though..

What do you refer to as VIN on the B18C5 ?? If you are talking of the serial No.
on the engine then, yes it is there and yes the motor and the car are legit.... Do you beleive there is more car theft in Quebec then anywhere else ??...
