My "tranny" is F***ing with me.
Hello guys. I have a ys1 GSR tranny that i'm 80% done with the "overhaul" but i came up to a lil problem.
My TRANSMISSION case housing

then it was the shift fork it didnt wanned to go in the case housing hole. so i moved the shift rod and place it in gear
shift forks

So any advise on what could i do to get my casing to go down smooth? Need help have to get it done fast? (my baby need this tranny!)

I see your problem-you need a bigger hammer
It's just a matter of finesse. Gently wiggle the case as you put very light downward pressure on it. As long as you don't have two dowel pins fighting for the same hole, you should be o.k. You also need to spread the countershaft bearing snap ring to get the trans. to make that last millimeter or two.

HA, your doing better than i did, i thought you had to press the case into the diff and gear shaft bearings so i started tightening the bolts down and cracked my bellhousing
lets hear it for being retarded

Its actually that little half dick of a shaft for the shifter selector. For some reason it likes to tilt over and not go in. If you shimmy the case it should fall in pretty easily...and it helps to try to prop it up a little by pushing the middle shift fork up just slightly. Atleast that helped me.
i had the same problem with mine when i was reassembling it, what i did was stuck a screw driver through the shift linkage extension, and i moved it back and forwarth, moving thru gears, at the same time as your trying to put the case on,this is what moves the shift forks, try to take that part out while u put the case on id be willing to bet that the case will line up

Well guys I just came back from one of my friend shop and i toll hem that i was having some problem with my tranny case. He toll me that he was doing a gsr tranny last month and the case didn't wanned to go in so he removed the locked pin from the case and insert the case without it.
it's probably the shifter selector you're pointing to in the parts diagram. i had the same problem, and just twisted the shift linkage and held it in place so the pin would line up with the hole. i kept my linkage attached to the tranny when i pulled it.
