WHy are you down on the 05?
Why are you guys so down on the 2005 Accords? I think the V6 is a great car. Obviously its my opinion, but is there something that I'm missing? I know the rear end is controversial, but you have to admit its a great value, especially at year end discount.
It's all a matter of taste and personal preferences. My first preference is a 6th gen V6 Coupe, my second is the '03-'05 V6 Coupe and my third is the 5th gen Coupe (which I, My wife and son all drive).
I would guess that there was a similar reaction when the 5th Gens were introduced ("oh God, It's too round") from those who liked the sharp edged 3d and 4th gen's.
It's all about what you like.
To be honest, I haven't seen any real knock-down, drag-out flame wars over the '03's to '05's. Perhaps I wasn't paying attention.

I'm down on the 7th gen V6 coupes. I really like their looks, and boosting them, they'd be sick cars. THe problem is I already have a car and I dont have 30k. Does that help you understand why I dont have one?

i just think the new accords just needs sum time to grow on us...when it first came out i ddint like it much either, kept reminding me of a spaceship...but later it kinda grew on me..and i got the fortunate chance of driving my grandpas 04 LX sedan...comapred to my 95 LX sedan the new engine has alot more low end torque then my F22...the whole car feels real big, and u feel really swallowed up by the big car, so i wasnt real confortable driving it at first, i kept feeling like i was gon hit sumthing when i parked or backedup...overall i still like my 95 better, but i dunt dislike the 04 neither though, i guess its really just how ur taste is....cudnt really push the 04 pretty hard and see what it can do with my grandpa in the passenger seat so i cant say nothing about it performance wise, except the motor has alot more low end torque
edit: o yea, the guages look real cool too...haha

OK first of all you guys that want to knock me becuase I am new to the board should relax, you were new here once too. I was just asking why it seems there are a lot of people that are upset with the 03-05 accord, and I was wondering whether or not it was because of their looks, performance, or what. If you don't have a problem with the 03-05, then I wasn't talking to you. To those of you who don't understand my homie talk, maybe one of two things should happen. I should have explained myself better, or, what I tend to believe, you should think about the meaning, slang or otherwise, of the word down. Now, where I come from, if you are down on something, it means that you don't have a good feeling about it. How that translates to "homie talk" I am not too sure, maybe some one can fill me in. So the bottom line is yes, I am new to this board, which makes me wonder where all the hostility comes from. Becuase I question people's opinions does not mean that I think they are wrong necessarily, I would just like to know why they feel the particular way they do.
Automobiles are much like organized religion: everythings great until you start arguing over which one's best
Just like your faith, your preferences are a personal choice and it's sometimes wise to keep both close to your chest. I lost a good friend for two years because he prefered Chevy's, I liked Fords. Who would have thought?
I'll be a Honda owner until either I pass away, or their quality control and durability drops thru the floor.
I'm waiting for the day where Honda Corporate decides to offer High Output (bigger displacement) Box Motors thru Honda parts Division. That's when I'll know they're serious about the youth market.

I'll put it in 'homie' terms the rest of us that speak proper English can understand.
"Why isn't the 7th generation Accord as popular? The V6 coupe looks really nice, and the hybrid sedan makes a lot of low end torque! They arent bad cars, even if you don't like the taillights!"
It's not that you're a n00b. It's that none of us joined up saying 'yo man you down with Accords, what bout the Combat style bodykits yo that **** is Fast and Furious.'
Anyone that talks in ghettospeak, home, lonely white boy slang, etc. deserves to get ridiculed. It's English, speak it. If you speak another language, speak in that too. At least speak in the given language properly.

Might i ask what threads you were reading that made you think everyone on these boards was "down" on the 7th gens? That would help us all understand what you were saying.

When you think of it, it's demographics.
Most older people, soccer moms, etc buy the new Accords, thus dont have an interest in them through modification or discussing them online. The older Accords, cheaper and in greater numbers, are thus more attainable, and there is potential in these older cars that comes from years of experimenting, make them more popular to the younger crowd that bothers to work with them.

For the motorhead (GearGrinder, etc) I think it has a great deal to do, not only with Demographics, but Aftermarket / Upgrade / Accessory parts availability. You hardly find any go-fast parts earlier that '88, but there's a dirth of parts selection from '90 thru '97. And it's just recently that parts are becoming available (in volume) for the 6th gen's.
And it also has to do with the Factory Warranty. If any remains on the car, I've known guys to hold off until the warranty expired.

I think you guys bring up some good points, I never thought about the whole 'warranty' ascpect of it, or the economical aspect of it. I would love to improve the looks of my car, be it through a body kit, suspensions, rims, etc. But I don't want to void a warranty just so I can feel better in my car. And, since most other 7th gen accord owners feel the same way and the warranty, there isn't much of a market. The main thing that I was worried about was that I wasn't missing something big that was wrong with the 03-05 , that has changed on the 06. I'm sure I'll love the car when I take delivery (tomorrow night), and for many years to come. Hopefully, when the warranty expires, I'll still have the car and I can afford the upgrades that I would like to have. Speaking of which, do you guys know if a remote starter voids the warranty?

what about honda "Factory Performance" parts? they came out awhile ago, not sure if they support the accord models, but i never heard or seen anyone use them, anyone know if there any good? im sure they wudnt void the warranty
There's a V6 coupe HFP kit, and I think it looks damn hot.
Any aftermarket part cannot void the warranty unless the dealer can prove that that part caused the defect. An exhaust will not void factory warranty; an air intake, if it lets dirt through, a turbo kit, nitrous, etc would void engine warranty. However, if you get a subwoofer and your transmission fails, they can't void the warranty based on the subwoofer. If the ECU fries from a current surge, however, then they'll look at your subwoofer and say 'tough crap'.

Enjoy your purchase, you've years of great driving ahead of you. My Red '97 SE, with 198,000 miles on it drives like the day it came out of the showroom.
If you choose carefully, you can still do things to make it your ride without voiding your warranty. True, you can't expect them to warranty an H22 swap, but appearance enhancements (spoilers, ground effects, window graphics ect) will have no bearing on the most important warranty catagories;
Powertrain
Emissions
Have fun, you've made an excellent choice
