Car is absolutley flawless. no dents scratches, paint alone was 5gs.
The cost to build the car is in the 60k range since the motor set up alone is 45gs~....
Im open to trades but please dont waist my time on ridiculous offers,,, looking for somthing in the 34-38k range... CANADIAN PRICE...

How did you get that total?
How did you get that total?
38,000.00 CAD Canada Dollars = 31,682.51 USD
United States Dollars
In a million years I doubt that you would ever get an offer like that. Best of luck

I agree. One thing that people often have trouble realizing is that recovering the cost of work or modifications performed on a car when trying to sell it is basically impossible.

Sorry, it's just that I've built an engine with forged internals, pieced together a turbo kit (with the aim of making more than 500 whp), along with the complete fuel system and engine management it's still not even close to $45k.
Care to add it up for prospective buyers?

As another ITR owner trying to sell a high powered R I can honestly say you will not see that kind of money for your car... Unless you find someone a mentally challanged person that just happens to have that kind of money. One of the things we as modified ITR owners must accept is the return is not as great as the profit, financially speaking that is. That is a bad *** car though...

exactly.... this is a load of ****.. NO WAY that totals up to 45k. what are you adding labor cost's into it?
i have a completly built engine, BB turbo, external oil system, twin disc.. etc.. and its not over 20k.
im not trying to take away from the car, it looks damn nice, and you obviously have a ton of money and work into it, but lets be realistic. ask 25k for the car. and go from there.

keep in mind we are in canada where rods are 1200 and not 400 like you guys pay... the porting of the head was 3000$ alone,,,
obviously im calcuating everything with labour and tunnig....
I saw the bill of what the guy spent to build the engine... so im not trying to lie...
Ya he payed alot for some parts but regardless it was a SHITLOAD of money...
so you think im better off to put a stock b18c5 motor and sell the car for 21k CA and get my 10k for the motor set up?
that way ill get my 30+gs...

Adding $10,000 to a $24,000 car does not make it a $34,000 car, it's still a $24,000 that has depreciated for the past five + years.
If you want to make you money back then your going to have to part each thing out and try to find a sucker for each thing.
I've had enough.

Agreed.
As already said, you'll never be able to recoup all your money invested regardless of how much you originally spent or how great the car is.
If you want to maximize dollars returned, put the car back to, or as close to stock and sell everything seperately.
Just ask Ed (Zygspeed) how hard it is to find a non flaking B.S. dreamer buyer for just a well setup proven turbo motor minus the car.
First it'll be hard to find someone to fork up $30k cash American or Canadian. And even harder for an interested younger guy to come up with it through a bank loan. Most banks (if not all) won't deal with values like that for a used/older car regardless of mods unless it's some sort of exotic or collectible/historical and even then it's a stretch, and a turbo R is by no means either.

I hope others have spread some light on the unfortunate situation you will be encountering. You simply wont find someone willing to spend the $$$ that you want. As previously stated your best option at this point is to start piecing out your goodies. Best of luck with your situation

I have a 641whp ITR and I wouldnt expect to get that much, fully built, JDM front, and all. I would be happy to get somewhere in the $24k range and take a big loss. I dont see how its possible to spend $45k on a motor setup, unless the guy got screwed big time like dummy. Nice car, but I doubt youll get what you want for it... Good Luck..
probably blew the hell out of it boosting too much. but what do i know..
ok seriously u cant think of it that way.. ok i got like full bolt ons on my car.. 2 sets of rims, coilovers, 2 intakes, 2 different types of ehx system combined together. .. so .let me see..
2001 type R brand new. 32800 + tax = 38400 or so..
+ i spend over 10 G..
bolt ons , window tint, cd headunit, alarm comes to like 12000 cad +
and i just bough all kinds of internal parts for my motor.
+ u dont have "clean" title for your R.. it's probably theif recovery titled.
so if u were me how much would u sell my car for?
i dun think i can get any higher than 18K USD
yeah. seriously.. how is the motor alone $$45000 ?? hellz. i'd go buy 1 spoon motor, 1 Toda race motor and 2 more stock B18C5 spare for that price and.. still have money leftover

Thats great, if everything was brand new in the box piled next to the car you prob still wouldnt even get that.
Theres no way you'd EVER get more than the original freaking retail price unless Honda decided to churn out one last production line ITR and they gave it to you (which would be the dumbest choice ever
).

how is it not a true type R,, you want my VIN number you moron,,,, most people who build turbo engines dont use c5 blocks for many reasons,,,
Its a type R Head on a b16 block bored out to almost a 1.8 liter...
i dont see how you can say the car isint a real type R if it dosent have a stock type R motor....
such an ignorant thing to say...
looks like ill probably part it out and get my 21k for the car with a stock C5 and 13-14 for the complete motor set up....
that will get me my 30k CA....

Wasn't this one that was the PY shell that you rebuilt? Does it have a regular title or salvage title? You built the ITR motor with a JR charger, right? Then you traded it for the turbo'd B16? I'm just making sure I have the right car...Good luck with the sale but you would be better off selling all of the performance parts and returning it to as close to stock as possible. Good luck
