RSX between door #1 or door #2 suggestions please!
I am looking at purchasing a RSX Type S in the next week and there are two sellers (locally) with so to speak the same car please give me suggestions on what you think would be a better way to go?!
2002 RSX-S #1 (51k on motor)
-pearl blue
-aem cia
-dc exhaust
-tinted windows
-car is lowered (not sure what springs would replace with coil-overs anyway)
-factory oem front underspoiler
-koing rims
guy is younger between 22-25 has the price set well over blue book/edmunds tmv but said he would be willing to negotiate around $16000
2002 RSX-S #2 (48k on motor)
-pearl blue
-aem underdrive pullies on the p/s and alt.
-k&n filter (in the stock airbox)
-tinted windows
-comes with extra set of wheels/tires (for winter use)
-winter rubber floormats
guy is in his 50's is selling the car because he just got a new TL seems pretty willing to negotiate the price to $15,800 based on last conversation.
---neither of the cars have extended warraties on them. do they both seem reasonably priced? which of the two would you pick? any suggestions in terms of what to look for in terms of a decieding factor?
Thanks

remember just because hes 50 doesn't mean he doesn't know how to ride a car hard. I would test drive both, make sure on both test drives you get both cars to at least 7k rpm to test engine. When revving the motor that high check for noises and any problems etc. I bought an 02 rsx type s while back and it made a very not normal noise when I would rev past 5k, but I didn't realize it till after i bought the car, because i never revved past 5k on test drive.....Hope that helped a little.
P.S. Back when I bought my 02 rsx type s, I had a guy that I met who's dad did auctions etc and they told me that 02 was the year the type s' had problems with the engines/ bugs etc. They would get cars from auctions that had problems.

not sure witch one to go for i mean you can take them or request them to get a compersion test done to make sure everything is ok just makes me wonder why a 50 year old man put pulleys on the car?

damn that is an awesome deal on your 03 SSM (type s or base) if you don't mind me asking was that from a private seller or a dealership that you got it 15000 otd? Maybe I should wait a little bit and see if the wisconsin winter can bring me a lower price and a completly stock rsx...i am not completely desprite to get into a new car that quickly but i am just tired of driving around my slow *** 98 automatic ex.

it's a no brainer man. anyone knows to buy from a 50 year old over a 20 year old even if the 20 year old has no legs.
