Default Engine motor mount bushings???

I'm thinking about getting engine motor mounts for my 98 Integra. Will they help alot?

Also, I know about the Energy Suspension ones. But I hear at idle the whole car will shake like mad and stuff. Is there a bushing out there on the market that does the job but doesn't make the car shake like mad????

Thanx

Some people say the new mounts help reduce wheel hop. I don't think my energy suspension bushings did anything but make the whole car vibrate like a biotch!

Yeah... the inserts I have didn;t do anything for wheel hop... made the car vibrate a lot at idle. I'm thinking about taking out the inserts from one or more mounts to see if that helps the vibration. The z10 radius rods kit is the only thing that's helped wheel hop for me.

Where can I get a "z10 radius rods kit" and how much does it cost?

I put the energy suspension kit in my 2000 gs-r and the wheel hop was reduced to almost nothing. The z-10 radius rod is good but I think it is more for track applications than street.

I had less of a wheel hop problem with my 205/50/15 Dunlop sp4000's... now I have Pirelli P7000 215/45/16's and it seems like the added traction made the wheel hop worse. The z10 kit helped wheel hop a lot... it takes some work to induce it now. I think one more turn will completely eliminate all hop. Fitment was pretty tight as it just barely (like 1/8") clears my moroso oil pan. There should be plenty of space with the stock pan, though. The kit also seems to tighten up the steering a bit and reduce squat during acceleration.

GSRjunky, the z10 site is http://www.z10eng.com/index2.htm

Looks like 330 + shipping from the group buy https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=73666. Although they did ship my kit to my billing instead of shipping address when I ordered and cost me 5 hours of driving

I think all poly engine mount inserts make the car vibrate... nature of the beast. The stock mounts are mushy to absorb the vibration... stiffer ones transmit it to the body more.

Check http://www.z10eng.com for the prices. Also there is a groupbuy here on Honda-tech as well aas http://www.groupbuycenter.com . It's like a little over $300 if I'm not mistaken.

Most if not all aftermarket motor mounts will make your car shake more. That's what they do....they are stiffer than the stock ones, hence your car will transmit more vibration from the motor. If you get a soft mount, it defeats the purpose of getting one, unless you're just replacing a worn out stock one.

I think stiffer motor mounts are to reduce engine flex so it doesn't lean back as much when you shift/accelerate which in tern increases traction and reduced wheel hop.

yeah.... that's why I got them. Once they were installed I still had crazy wheel hop. The only difference I noticed was the vibration and maybe slightly harder launches.
