Dented DC JDM ITR header - suggestions on what to do next?
ok like i said, its dented, due to an "invisble" pot hole (stupid me). the 2 lower tubes are dented about 1-2 inches long or so but heres the thing. when driving at lower rpms all is well. but as soon as vtec engages i start hearing exhaust leaking from somewhere up front. not sure if its coming from the collector side but i am hoping that it is, and that its not on the head portion. this just happened a few hours ago so i have more investigating to do. i know it would help to have pics but since i apparently have a leak PERIOD, should i replace the header altogether? what would you guys do if this was your situation? thanks for the comments/ suggestions.
Hmm I've heard of a few people denting them slightly but it sounds like you will need to replace it. It's most likely leaking where the cat/testpipe meets with the header. Hitting those lower tubes bent that section of the header up...
With the cost of the header being what it is, I'd just suggest replacing it. If your budget allows, this might also be an opportunity to upgrade to something that performs a bit better.
You can attempt a fix as the post below:

But as Padawan mentioned, for the price I would just replace.

Much depends upon your budget. SMSP's (relatively) new one-piece headers are a great mid-level choice and would be a nice upgrade from the DC.

who hasnt dented their dc header, they clearance on these headers sucks, i went through 3 headers until i finally gave up. Those dents as long as they arent pinching the exhaust flow badly will not cause any performance loss
I think RMF has one for 700 or so. Great header. Or hell who doesnt want a TODA. Just grab the $950 from your counter and order one up!!!
Seriously a good upgrade is a RMF or SMSP. And you will notice a difference.
