I have a 2000 civic ex... and I will be changing rims to the slipstreams from rota, I would like to get a 15 inch, but I guess 16 is ok too...

oh, and I will eventually be putting on the eibach pro kit.. so figure like a 1 inch drop... I do not know which offset or whatever in rotas to get, so a suggestion in that would also be much appreciated.

Basically, aside from yoko, falken that stuff.... what tires, such as michelin, bf, firestone, goodyear, bridgestone.... would you recommend? as well as which offset I should get in the slips, I never have ever made a choice about that.

run either 195/50/15 or 205/50/15
if you run 60's the tire will be very beefy

 

beefy would be ok, as long as it would not rub, this is a commuter car for college and stuff... though, I really dont want it to look too stupid.... basically quiet and good handling are what I am concerned with the most, ... any recommendations for a good tire? and no, no yoko, or falkins, or all that, lets talk bridgestone, michline, goodyear, firestone etc.... that sorta stuff...

 

I personally would get 50 seriers or 45...

 

What Mr.RHTuner is referring to when he meant "beefy' is that it will give the look of a fat sidewall on a small rim, kinda like what off road 4-wheelers have(Not to that extreme though).

BTW best offset is 38mm for the 15-16 rims.

Also best tire sizes: 205/50/15, 195/50/15, 205/45/16 for your ride.

 

205/50 R15s fit nice with 15" slips...

Goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3: if you want great handling and a quiet ride (until the tread starts getting low ). $$$ is kinda steep on tirerack right now, ~$90ish per tire, but i bought them on sale during xmas for $75. Look it up on http://www.tirerack.com. The only reason i didnt buy them again is that i dont drive hard enough to really take advantage of their grip, and i cant afford to replace tires every year.

Khumo Ecsta ASX: if you want good handling and a very quiet ride. It's about $65ish plus shipping on tirerack (not too pricey). Treadwear rating is at 430, so they will last you forever (*Note: tires WILL NOT last you forever, it is only a figure of speech). Grip is pretty good for an all-season tire, but i mainly bought these to just cruise around in.

but where the spokes meet the lip its not rounded like the real ones are

I dont remember Mr.RHTuner mentioning that his rims were slipstreams

I would get 15's b/c they are lighter and tires are a lot cheaper and easier to find.

Bridgestone Potenza RE750's are great all around tires.

Hey everyone, Well I have a 94 civ coupe with about a 2 in drop after the settle. Well im running 15 in Integra rims on mine. Im using Kumho 711's, but that is all in your personal preference. I like the the Brigstone Turanza as well. Im running 195/50 on the front and 205/50 in the rear. When using the 205's in the front I noticed too much bite in the corners and tended to slide out in the front and it kinda messed w/ the speedo and stuff, so I went with the 195's I like the way they hook better in the front. Now I do have some issues in the rain with the rear sliding out on the 205's ( but thats driving stuid) as far as in the dry the rear bite's mean, like a dog w/ rabies. The car drives awesome in the corners, my buddy like it better than his hatchback. Now it also matters what sup your runnning. I'm running KYB GR2's and using Suspension Technique 1.8 drop spring's, and only have upper strut bars. 94 Civic coupe w/ B18B.

 

what kind of mileage are you all getting on the RE750? from waht I can tell, it isnt much at least from the dealers... which if they are fantastic all year round... I wouldnt care, and would buy, but if you could tell me their general lifespan I would be happy.

 

Dealers or tires from the factory have a lower grade rubber on them. The only reason I'm saying this is b/c I used to work in a tire store. People were usually getting 30,000 to 50,000 on the factory equipped tires and after they bought new one in the same brand they were getting on an average on 20,000 miles more on the same brand a make tire

 

I didnt mean car dealer, I meant wheel/tire dealer
