Anyone have problems with twin disk cable trans?
We worked 16 hrs straight getting the car ready for ITB a few weeks ago only to take a test drive at 1am and find that second gear had mysteriously left the building. It goes into 2nd gear every once in a while, if anything its easier to get into gear in higher rpm. First is starting to get hard as well. At first I thought it was a trans problem and we went home (and didnt go to ITB,
) But now after talking to some other guys who run cable trans and twin disk clutches theyre saying this is a common problem. I have double checked the clutch pedal for any slop, making sure it is not moving when we push in on the pedal. Its fine. Adjusting the cable makes its a little better but we dont want to go too much and hurt the clutch.
anyone else experience this? any suggestions

I run a CC twin in my YS1 and have never had an issue like that. Doesn't sound like a clutch problem since it only happens in one gear.
Yes, we adjusted it until there is no slack in the cable at all and it still wont go in. I really like to have a little slack in the cable so we dont ride the clutch without knowing. Im going to pull the trans this week and check everything out. We were talking about it the other night again and we did remember the first time we took the car to the track while doing a 2nd gear burnout the trans popped out of gear, not sure if that would hurt it that bad. Guess we wont know until I open the case.
