I have obd0-obd1 conversion and in order to check my cel I was under the impression that I had to just jump the clip (timing clip) on my driver side shock tower and turn the car to II and the CEL should flash. However, my CEL stays on, along with the other warning lights. I tried resetting my ecu (pulled fuse and let sit for hours, and even pulled neg battery cable) and the CEL still comes on when i start my car.

What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something?
