Default turbo oil return pump ?

Is it possible to put a pump on the turbo oil return line if there no angle on the return hose.

yes, on our race car, we are using a "section" of the oil pump to scavange the oil from the turbo.

i have only seen one guy using an external pump to suck the oil from the turbo. it seemed to work pretty good when i saw the car. send him a pm for more info (dohcarp) (chad)

there are the guys running turbos at the rear of the car, that use a boost dependent electrical oil pump to return the oil from the turbo. Someone posted about the setup a while back.

this is my street car setup. there is one pressure section, and one scavenge section, the thing in my hand is my mechanical fuel pump.

on the race car, we simply have another scavange section specificly for the turbo.

Weldon has a very nice oil scavenge pump that works great for what you're trying to do.

I went to Weldon's site and found this... http://www.weldonracing.com/9200a.html
It's adjustable from 0-80 GPH and 0-60 PSIG. How would you figure out how much pumping you would need to suck the oil out of a turbo? Wouldn't it have to be RPM dependent?

bump cause I'm intersted in this topic. I have a regular oil drain just wanna hear some more discussion.

I have a mag that did a turbo setup on a focus hatch (could be sts, don't remember) and it had a pump to suck up the oil out of the turbo cause the turbo was lower than the oil pan. It had a neat resevior on the bottom of the turbo first too to collect oil.

I'll see if I can find the mag.

that focus was a precision turbo kit.they sell the scavenge system seperate as well.they don't have it on their site, you would have to call them about it.

ok, so how do we adjust the flow ??

there`s a lot more oil travelling to the turbo when car is reving up.

Also will there be an air pressure problem is the oil pan if pump is sucking air at idle ?

I Im'ed Dturbocivic, he has the one in the focus precision turbo kit.

He said it is crank driven. Some others are steady state and suck the same amount always.
