well, ive got a decent amount of power in my lude, but this winter i was thinking of going FI. i just want to hear opinions from turbo'd and supercharged luders. have you had any problems with your setup?? which do you prefer?? ive found JR superchargers for $2k, but i have also found complete turbo kits for about $750. or to piece together my own. which do you think would work better for my setup.. i kno id have to get a new exhaust system for turbo, but its do-able
i have -
stock bottom end
S2S1 cams
SS headerback exhaust ( i kno, it wouldnt matter for turbo)
APEXi vafc
AEM CAI

you need to get rid of the S2S1 cams. its either N/A or FI. cant use N/A cams for FI.
i prefer turbo. you can have a nice setup for the price of a $2000 JR SC, but if you get a JR SC you wont have to get rid of your header. You will also need to sleeve your block and buy pistons and rods while your at it. If you dont want to sleeve then dont go past 8psi.
its really up to you and what you want and prefer.

ya, i still have my stock cams, so if i were to go turbo, id throw em back in... and i dont care about the header, if needed, ill sell it, for a turbo manifold. and i wouldnt go over 8psi, b/c i dont want to make it a track monster, its still my daily driver, just want a lil more power. i considered turbo, b/c its much cheaper than SC
A turbo set-up would require more changing of parts from what you have now. If you run a SC, you wouldn't need to change anything but your cams. A stock JRSC set-up only runs 6psi, so it's perfect w/ stock internals.

well if you know what ur doing then by all means piece together ur own kit u save alot of money and u get what you want, not what a kit gives u.... as for getting a turbo kit for 750, thats prolly some gangsta **** that was stolen or really used or really cheap parts like that ebay junk.... if ur gonna get a kit go with greddy or revhard or those other brands
personaly id go with the turbo over sc, there is more room for upgrades when u go turbo than when u go sc... and anytime u go FI ur gonna cut ur motor life down a good percentage so thats why they recommend u build ur block

ya, i would definately tune it with the VAFC, and maybe a hondata.. i am only looking to make 250-275 whp... i think 250 would be more realistic with stock bottom end.... and thats pretty much what a JRSC makes at 6psi.. but i am leaning towards turbo, for the less cost, and future tuning needs...

Those kits are ****. If you want to do it the right way, plan on spending a minimum of 3000-3500.

JRSC can put down 240whp easy. i like the super because it has boost on tap at all revs. whereas the turbo has to spool before boost comes on, even at high revs you have to rebuilt pressure after you let off the gas. it all depends on what you want. i like supers for daily drivers, and turbos for track cars. but i agree with everyone that you will need to tune it. and the VAFC will not work because it cannot tune a motor with positive pressure in the intake manifild. you will need to go hondata or something.

ya, i will probably just piece together my own... if i do decide to go turbo... i do like the boost off idle of the supercharger tho... and i agree with the SC for daily driver too...
