recently swapped a b16a into a civic dx coupe... vtec crosses over and everything. but motor wont go past 7500 rpm... to my knowledge it should b able to reach 8200. any ideas?

 

what ecu are you using
and are you throwing any cel

when you say it wont go pass 7500 its hitting the rev limiter?

 

using p30 (purchased complete swap from hmotors) only thing i can think of is knock sensor is not wired yet. yep.. 7500 is rev limiter

 

fix all your cel then test it again

knock sensor only takes 5min to hook up to ecu

I ran into the same problem after my sir2 swap. It turns out my tach was not properly calibrated and was just way off. I hooked up a VAFC and the rev limit was fine. Replaced my Si meter panel with an Sir2 one. Much better!
