Searched: How to separate D16Y8 Headgasket

I just picked up a new y8 metal head gasket and the middle layer is riveted in. I dont see a way to separate it without ruining the gasket. Any one got the writeup or ideas?

so say u take the rivets out somehow, do u just put the two outside layers in without rivets?

Just remove the rivits and you should be good.

Do it if you want, but consider the fact that the middle layer has staggered coolant orifices to help evenly cool the head and block.

yea im probly not gonna bother. This mini-me is more of a temporary setup to pass inspection and get me around.
