Ive searched but come up with nothing... i was wondering if anyone ever dropped an f22 or f23 into an EG or EK...for what it is both motors have more horse and torque than any other SOHC motor from honda plus a boatload more torque than a b16 and a little more horse and torque than a b18b... the motors are great for boost and their a dime a dozen... i just bought an EK coupe with a little d16 in it and im going to be swapping something in by october, i was aiming at just a b18b with some bolt ons and a gsr tranny but ive owned 2 accords before and the f22 is a fun little torquey motor an im sure it would feel a hell of a lot faster in a 2300lb civic than in a 2900lb accord ... im probs still going with the b18b but some info would be good any feedback on the swap out there???

if you want torque put a h22 in it

I thought the H22 swap mounts would work?


Anyways, if you are going to do all that you might as well put the H22 in, best of both worlds... HP & TQ.

it is more torque & horsepower and any other single cam.. it would be worthwhile... the same torque as an H22 at 1/4 the cost... i say do it

 

yea i was thinking that exact thing if you can find an f22 or f23 for like 250-300 why not plus boosting it , buying another block wont break the bank and they hold up to boost better than the H with their crappy cylinder walls.... im going to look into it more an hopefully spark some more interest in a new kind of swap

I agree, I think it's a great swap. Not too long ago, the fastest NA FWD was an F22, anyone who knows anything about them knows it's a pretty serious motor. You can use a lot of the H22 swap parts. Yes, the mounts are pretty expensive but I think it's worth it.

You can play around the Accord forum for basic info or check the Hybrids forum for anything else. Go F22, be SOHC, stay different and don't listen to a whole bunch of people who don't know wtf they're talking about.

 

The f22b6 is in the 95-97 Odyssey van. Just imagine what it's like in a civic. The f23 is in the 98 Odyssey van with VTEC with way more horses. I'd go with the f23. Good luck.

WTF? Not sure about that one. Last time I checked the Odyssey's were only available with V6's Maybe the 95-97

Edit: They both were available with them. V6 only models started in 2000. New knowledge to me, I think having a van with a four cylinder would be horrible though.

 

Actually the 4 cylinder vans are more reliable than the 1999+vans which had transmission issues. There's good low end torque with the 4-2-1 header. The 4 cylinder van continues to be sold throughout Europe/asia/elsewhere but not here anymore. Passing is an issue on the highway with the 4 cylinder vans though. But, do I need to drive it like a race car with my family in it? Most likely not. Heck it was Honda who invented the stow and go 3rd row seat in 1995. Chrysler tries to take credit 10 years later.
