Default What is the best setup to get 350-400 bhp on a h22?

Right now i have a 99 prelude with only a valve train upgrade and a obdI conversion, intake, 2.5" exaust pipes, tanabe muffler, rc engineering injectors and spoon vtec controller. I was thinking on getting a new piston, rod, ring setup and lower the compression to 9:1 and through a turbo charger, but im unsure about the steps I need to take, any Ideas?

if you get new pistons you WILL have to get your motor sleeved ($700-$1000) because the stock h22 cyclinder walls are made of FRM, and i dont think you can lower compression through a turbo charger. you can lower compression through pistons and other ways. A turbo charger will get you where you want to be, but get ready to dish out couple thousand to get there. You will also need a different ECU (p28 or p72) and you will need to chip it so you can dyno tune it.

good luck.

btw spend money and do it right the first time and save yourself headaches later on.

i agree the rods sleeves pistons should be done for that level of hp. what size injectors are you running now?

btw he didnt say he'd lower the compression w/ a turbo but lower the compression and then throw on a turbo

I always thought how it would be cool to have a strong, built motor, add an JRSC, then use nitrous for that extra 150hp or so.
As long as the motor is built for it, you could have a nice 250whp normally, then nail it for about 400 horses!
That would be a site to see...I can dream can't I ?

so the stock sleaves would not hold the pressure? and does anybody know what is a good turbine for this kind of power?

btw i think that the ecu is a p28 already, and the injectors are 450cc.

umm.. u can do that with turbo and a boost controller..

you can't run forged pistons with stock sleeves. so u gotta sleeve it. unless u get the mahle pistons(but i dont know anyone who has tested them yet) your gonna need some 720cc injectors. for the turbo you can get a normal run of the mill t3/t4e 60trim.
