Default running too rich?

hey wats up peoples.... i just installed a skunk 2 IM and a P73 (USDM type-r) ECU on my 01 GSR and now im getting a CEL code 45 "too rich or too lean".... i hooked it up on the OBD2 scanner to get details and it said that im running rich... the only engine mods that i have are a skunk 2 IM, injen CAI, and the P73 ECU... has anybody else encountered this problem with the IM or the P73 ECU on a GSR? thanx in advance

why did you choose to run a p73 ecu instead of your p72 ecu?

cuz the p72 still thinks that its a dual stage manifold but its not.... it still thinks it has the secondaries.... i tried it just for the hell of it.....vtec would kick in at 4,400 RPM and it would feel like your loosing power when vtec was engaged... the P73 has single stage vtec engagement so it works welol with a single stage IM.... vtec kicks in later at about 5,700 RPM and pulls alot harder.... but i got this running rich problem... i thought the ECU would compensate for how much fuel is being dumped.... thats why i think it might be somthin else.......

I was getting that code a while back It turned out to be leaking fuel injectors

try putting back your p72 see if it throws out the same code....because if you have a leaking injector both ecus should pick it up...if not then might be the ecu...not too sure.

the only thing is that i cant really just plug and play it.... it is they are both obd2b so they have the immobilizer.... i had to take it to acura so they could sync the ecu with my key... so i'd have to go to acura again and pay for them to reprogram it again to do that..... pain in the ***.... i would think that the ECU no matter which one it is, and no matter how aggressive the fuel maps etc. are, that it would compensate.... i mean look at all those crazy OBD1 programs that are way more agressive then a P73 ecu.... i dunno..........

well i did scan it to get details...because with out a scanner i can only see the code 45 which means "too lean or too rich" doesnt tell u which one unless you scan it for details.... the detail it gave me was that it running too rich.... i mean it helped a lil bit by narrowing it down to "too rich"..... but wont show me the exact prob..... frustrating... haha

I had the car at Acura to get diagnosed they determined that I was getting leakdown through one or more of my injectors. Changed them out and no more code for over a year. So yes leaking fuel injectors will throw this code

yea they said it was running rich due to the injectors leaking. Changed them and problem solved.
