Default GSR intake Manifold on LS head???

This was just an idea that came to me. I know the GSR manifold will not be a direct bolt on. What I am wondering is will the runners even match up with the LS head? If they do the bolt holes would not be a big deal. You could plug weld them and drill new holes to match the LS head bolt pattern.

The secondary butterfly, this is a bit of a mystery to me as i have not really studied them much. Are they controled by the ECU? VTEC? Or at a given manifold preasure they open?

Before someone starts to flame away. THIS IS JUST AN IDEA!!!! I am just looking for an opinion on this. At this point my car does not need an IM, but i am allways looking for fun little projects that I can play around with. I enjoy welding, drilling and just making stuff work. It is all in good fun.

its just an idea..

and the iab's are operated by the ecu..

the iab's are operated with vacuum. At 5700 the ecu sends the GO signal and the vacuum is released and the IAB's open. drop below that rpm and they close and vacuum is reapplied :thumbup

pic for reference:

Damn, not that is some info!!! That explains why i have read about people keeping them open and loosing low end power. It seems like there would be way to much air at low RPM, causing the ECU to dump fuel to avoid going lean, there for creating a very rich formula, just more air and fuel than the engine needs at low RPM.

So now i guess the question is if the IAB is closed all the time, and on an LS motor will the IM flow enough air at high rpm??

Part of my thinking behind this was the GSR IM should have a better flow rate then the stock LS IM. But now i wonder if it flows better only because of the IAB's.
