I went mobil 1 synthetic... but remember, once you use synthetic, your not supposed to go back. And if your car eats any oil, you might be better off with somethin a little cheaper.

I want to find whoever started that and shoot them.

The dude at advance auto scolded me for buying dino oil last time I was there. He was like, "you've been buying synthetic for awhile. You can't put that in your car anymore."

Just get generic 10w30 and a k&n gold filter.

I wouldnt waste your money on mobil 1 with your setup. I would buy Valvoline 10w30 and the cheapest filter you can get your hands on.

yeah drain is the "correct" way to go first but it really doesnt matter, most of your oil will be in the oilpan anyway.

true, my moms 89 maxima on mobil one went 280,000 before the valvesprings cracked the a torqueconvertor shattered.

i changed to mobil 1 after just 500miles on my 2001 prelude, did a compression check a month ago w/ 30k miles and it read 220psi on all cylinders.

AMEN...... and i think its a good idea and recomneded to use the mobil 1 filter whenever you use synthetic oil... regular filters dont have the correct filtering for synthetic oils... (correct me if im wrong...)

Well, Mobil 1 seemed to have been a good choice for me then. But I don't have a Mobil 1 filter in... maybe I will get one and get rid of the fram that is in there.

OK, I will. The filter doesn't know nor care what kind of oil you are using ... mineral or synthetic (and these days, some synthetics are actually mineral oil anyway).

The Mobil 1 filter is what's called a "high-efficiency" filter. It uses a dense filtration media which can be restrictive to proper oil flow in certain applications. Purolator Pure-One and Amsoil filters also use a very dense media.

Mobil 1 filters ARE well-made, however. They are one of the highest quality filters made by Champion Labs in New Jersey. Champion Labs also make Bosch, Lee, K&N and SuperTech (Walmart brand).

But I still wouldn't use them ... especially considering the price.

do some research for yourself. i'm so tired of people talking about motor oils when the only thing they know about it is what they were told. lame.

haha yeah no doubt ... i think the filter for my h22 was like 10.... but while we are on the fram subject... at my school we did a little project where we took a fram, and a few other filters (i think supertech was one) and cut the ends off to look at the filtering devices.... (the paper filters and whatnot) and the fram was byyyyyyy far skimping on filter agents.... there was hardly anything inside the canister... i dont wana open up a can of worms or anything, but i defiently give fram a
