Anyone with an Exedy full face organic clutch please help
I have a first gen b16. i put a exedy full face organic clutch on it and i cant seem to get it adjusted right. right now it BARELY goes into gear. the thing is my pedal pressure is stiff as hell. is this normal? is seem like i still need to tighten it another turn so that way it will go in to gear easier. right now the lever has about 1/4" of play from the distance that it hang to were it touches the pressure plate.
so how hard is you pedal tension?
A. light as stock (about the same as what the gas pedal is0
B. somewhat heavy (almost like a bicycle tire pump that you pump with you foot)

I have this clutch, and it is a bit stiffer than a stock clutch, that is normal. I believe the play in the release arm should be 3 - 4 mm (0.12 - 0.16 in), so it sounds like you may need to tighten it up a bit
if i make it tighter it will only be harder to push down. does the back of you seat move when you push it down?

Me too, I've had this clutch for about two years in my B18 swap. I have the same clutch (small shaft) as your B16 tranny and its only just a little more than stock effort required. Have you adjusted it too far to where you don't have any play at all in your clutch shaft?

this is what im affraid of.
by the sounds of it the exedy clutch should be close to stock feeling but i think it feels more like a ACT heavy duty pressure plate.
i have been living with it being stiff as hell for a year and am just getting sick of it. i think i am low on MTF so i'll add some, maybe that could be the problem? it wont go into gear were it is supposed to because its low on fluid so when i overtighten it compensates? just a thought

stupid question, but did you lube everything up (input shaft, throw out shaft, etc.) when you put it together? I'm somewhat convinced that this is causing mine to be a little stiffer than it should be, but I suppose if it was squeaky clean in there then it could make a big difference.
