My homeboy is doing one right now on his DC... He hasn't incurred much expense at all, however, he is doing his from start to finish in his garage... He bought a DC front clip w/o motor, and used the firewall, and all the stuff from the RHD clip... He's almost done, i'm sure he'll post it when he finishes...

Carlos, since you're only 4 hours away from L.A. I would suggest looking in recycler.com. There is a company that sells full front clips without the engine for about 400-500 bucks. That includes the pedals, dash, rack/pinion/steering column, and door panels.
The swap would entail removing your engine and entire firewall and welding on the RHD firewall and it's componants. Or I guess you could just use your own fire wall and make the cuts for pedals, master cylinder, etc.
If you can weld and are handy with tools, I can see this conversion easily being done for under a grand. I was seriously considering doing this conversion till I realized that the one thing that would really be a bitch would be the hard lines. You would most likely have to custom bend you own hard lines to all four corners. Yuck, I pass on that.

I would seriously NOT consider slicing your a-pillar and welding a new clip on. I know its done, but if you dont know what your doing, your at major risk because your support wont be that strong, my .02

Isn't it illegal to have a right hand driver car here?
