Default h22a tranny install

im working on my jdm h22a swap, just got done changing the clutch and flywheel and im having a problem putting the tranny back on. on that level of agrivation where im ready to turn hulk and toss the whole engine across my garage, so i was wondering if anyone had tips to get it back on easier? got the engine dropped on a hoist outside the car, want to get it back on so i can do my swap this weekend. any help appreciated,

ive done clutch jobs before, but was in a toyota pickup, honda accord, and geo storm, and engine was always on the car, this one is on the floor and seems to be a little harder to line everything up to put it back on. any suggestions on how to approach this to make it easier? two days and im still trying to get it back on.

worst scenario if someone wanna come by, im in tampa fl, and do it for me, ill give you some cash

Hey bro. Putting the tranny onto the longblock can be an *** pain on or off the car. Off the car, it can be a bit trickier, but you can do it. Follow these steps and I'm sure you will be pleased.

1. An extra set off hands will help so much.
2. Another set of hands will make it a breeze
3. Make sure you aligned the clutch with a clutch alignment tool. I've done without, but it's not worth it. Also, you should have loctited the clutch and flywheel bolts. You don't want to undo the bolts if it's not aligned and disturb the loctite.
4. Use a hoist with an engine leveler. It helps tremendously. If this is not an option, you must rest the block on wood or anything that will level it.
5. You can use a floor jack to raise the the tranny up to engine level.
6. If your engine is leveled on something sturdy enough, you can take the cherry picker off and use it along with the floor jack on the tranny. This will tremendously help if you have not so many helping hands. The best way I found is to mount the cherry picker on the tranny closest to the block. Usually the engine mount points or bolt attaching the transaxle assembly is best. Any part closest to the block. Then you can use the floor jack at the end of the tranny. You can raise the hoist or the floor jack to any height you need. These two tools will help you adjust up and down and well as the proper level. Now all you need is to do is adjust left and right which will be much easier once shaft slides into the flywheel hole. I hope this all makes sense. Good luck.

This is important, because the mainshaft won't go into the clutch disc if it's not lined up. Might try inserting the alignment tool again and make sure the disc has not moved relative to the flywheel as a result of your tranny installation efforts. Good luck.

thanks for the replys, yea that def looks like its going to be a good help, didnt think about using the cherry picker on the tranny, had me and 2 others on it before i posted here, should make it easier for us to concentrate on lining everything up instead of holding everything in place. think im going to take the pressure plate back off and reinstall the clutch just to make sure i didnt mess that up,
thanks for the help

EDIT!!! found my problem, see the instructions in installing said, take note on how oem clutch was so i can put this one in the same way.... well this clutch dont want to slide on the grooves unless i flip it around to face the oposite way. what do you think? already contacted the people i bought it from.

when you tighten the flywheel bolts make sure that everything is still centered
otherwise the mainshaft will not go in like stated before
