Default Cams for 2004 civic EX coupe?

I have seen on truehonda.com that they have a set of cams and a spring and retainer set for the 01+ ex. It says that it would be good for 11-16whp running na. Does anyone know of any other company that sells cams or internals for 01+ ex?

I dont htink he was asking if he should mod his D17 or get a K20.

crower makes D17 cams.

A guy on 7thgencivic is sellin a cam, springs and retainers all brand new because he is selling his car and never put them on, so Id check the classifieds there.

Is anyone familiar with Omni Power's high compression valves? they have a set for the d-series on passwordjdm.com. What should i expect from him compression valves? Also, would they be a good set to go with crower camshafts and the crower retainer set?

Crower has a cam available for the D17A2 motors (VTEC only). You can have a regrind done at a number of camshaft manufacturers. I have the springs and retainer kits as well as the cams. As of now Crower is the only manufacturer that is doing a new camshaft for the D17s.

What stage cams from Crower do you have? I was looking for the Stage II NA set. Did you notice a good power gain from it?

i just got a 2001 EX, came with carbon hood and rigged up ram air, but im interested in cams too. the Stage 1 cams say smooth power to 8k, is my car capable of spinning that many rpms on stock internals? i havent researched much yet this is my first stop, this looks like a good place to call home. i wanted a cam grind for about 7500 rpms, but it sounds stage 2 is good enough for 8000. will the only thing i need is spring and retainers for 8000 rpms? would also need fueling solution whats the best for that?

I have all the cams available from Crower in stock. I personally have not ran the camshaft but I have some customers with them and they are impressed.

I still haven't heard anything about the OmniPower valves. They are the only company i have seen with a valve set for the d17. Does anybody know if they are good and what should i expect from it?

Couple of points: buy ONLY Billet cams or if Poor and willing to risk.. rewelded then reground cams
Remember that IF a cam is CARB aproved the power gains are in the 'waste of time' area and IF you live in any place where they take emissions seriously it's silly to even bother.

Billet cams with solid lifters?

B series have problems with billet cams, so, take that as you will.

im a noob with civics, so i have a few questions about cams. are the crower cams billet? will the stage two trip the Service Engine Light with after market fueling? how many rpms can the engine turn with the spring and retainers? i want the stage two with 8000 rpms, does this sound reasonable with out pushing to far or not enough? what header would work best with this setup? and wondering if i can do this in my garage with out special tools.

one more thing if i can get a links on deep and technical stuff about engine and trans, thanks.
