Default OT:Is F1 the new nascar fashion

I just had to know if others saw this like i did this evening.

Went out with some friends for a buddy of mine's birthday. Saw a guy with a Mclaren crew shirt on. Found myself standing next to the guy at one point and i just casually asked him what he thought about Mclaren's chances and what he thought about how they were doing. His response "who is Kimi Raikkonen, its a Mercedes shirt yo". I mean honestly i thought i felt like grilling the guy but then i thought about it and it really wasn't even worth it given his earlier response.

So i was just wondering if others saw this around town or wherever. And if i need to start wearing a BAR honda shirt out at night to be "in style"

He probably just bought it for the "Mercedes."

I saw a young girl (soph or jr in high school) with a black shirt with "RAIKKONEN" in silver. I was surprised and asked her if she's a Kimi fan. She said she was, and that she absolutely cannot stand JPM! She's strictly an F1 fan. She'll watch Champ Cars if it's on TV and there's nothing else to watch. She doesn't watch NASCAR or IRL.

Daughter is now hid. Sickos.

I don my BAR "Button Up" shirt a couple times a month and cannot believe the amount of conversation it strikes up. F1 fans seem to come out of the woodwork. And this is in Tulsa!

The same thing happens in the D.C. area. And drunk girls like to yell "Button Up!"

Yeah i have people asking me where i got it (my BAR Honda Jacket) or saying "whats that jacket for i haven't seen a honda with that color scheme" (obviosuly they haven't seen f1). I have also met a few people wearing F1 related clothing that have no idea and where it cause it is a BMW or Mercedes shirt.

At a party one time i had a young guy ask me where i got my Jacket made, he was reffering to my uber expensive mugen jacket i was so offended i told him i had it made in japan

You didn't buy that from some dude in the garment district selling "authentic" Mugen wear?

Speedgear, official BAR website, eBay, and at the race. Hey, that sounds familar.

A lot of the eBay stuff isn't authentic. Duh.

I have a bootleg BAR jacket from eBay...you know, the $10 jacket with the $30 shipping from Taiwan.

I have official F1 shirts from the Speedgear trailer at races. I bought my yellow Jordan F1 shirt with the black hornet stripes on one side at the 2001 Target Grand Prix of Chicago. What sucks is that everyone thinks it's a "Pikachu" shirt.

The other BAR shirts were from the Speedgear trailers at Long Beach and Fontana. I noticed that the Speedgear trailers carry less F1 merchandise at IRL races.
