Thanks for the info guys, this kid im my area (the one mentioned by redracinghart) clams he bought a 5 speed ls tranny for his 90ish civic sadan w/d15. He said its a direct bolt in.

 

Nope, it won't bolt in. He is just talking out his *$% when he told you that.

 

no it doesn't bolt on but i don't care what anyone tells you..."you can make anything work...maybe not you, but with money and the right people anything is possible". i don't know why you would want a ls tranny on a d15 though.

 

The civic is an automatic. He wants to convert it to 5 speed. The funny part is, I think someone sold him this tranny telling him it would bolt right on!!!! Unless its not really a LS tranny and just a 5 speed d series tranny.

 

You all just assume it's a 3G 'teg. IIRC, 1st gen 'tegs were d16a1 right? I would assume the 1G LS tranny would bolt to the d15...

yeah they came with a DOHC d-series motor and a d-series(so to speak) tranny

 

Can you put that DOHC D series head on a regular SOHC D series block? Why arnt people doing that to their D series?
