Default Question about header fitment?

I have a 99 Civic with a B-series swap. This may sound stupid but I thought I would ask anyway. Will an aftermarket header like Greddy or DC stick out the same amount as a Stock header? The reason I ask is that the other day I tried to take my heat shield out and could not, The a/c fan was in the way. I was just wondering if an aftermarket header will fit in there fine? I am worried it wont.
Is there anything I can do to get the heat shield/header out without messing with the A/C? And no I am not going to take away a/c.

Here are pics of how tight the spot is:

It's like putting a header on in an EM1. You can remove the heatshield with the lines on. Any aftermarket header will fit.

How do I remove the heat shield with the lines on? I tried and it got stuck b/c of the a/c fan. Is there anyway I can take the a/c fan out for the header install? Are you 100% sure it will fit? I dont want to buy it and find out it doesnt fit.

All b-series have the same width. So in actuality, it's like putting on a header on a B16A2 (EM1).

Oh ok. I guess I am just used to a D16 being in there. Is there anyway I can move the a/c fan out of the way during header install? I dont think there is going to be any other way to get the heat shield out.

How hard did you have to fight to get it out? Did you have to move anything out of they way to get it out? Did you take it out from the top or bottom? Will an aftermarket header fit in there fine?

lol whats up blazed ...

Thats what I figured but it just seemed like a really tight spot but I guess I am just used to the D16, there was plenty of space when that was in there. I did not have to do anything to get the heat shield out. but of course thats cause its SOHC. I did not have the money to get a header when my car was getting swapped How do I take the a/c fan out without messing with the a/c? Is it just the 2 bolts at the top and some plugs?

Shouldn't an aftermarket header fit in his car even with a/c?

You can get it out if you force it out past the A/C lines. You need to first get the top power steering bracket out of the way and you have to unbolt the A/C line bracket that holds the line to the A/C fan. I was able to just slip it out by angling it out just a little to the driver side and pushing the A/C lines as far back agaisnt the condesor. You also might consider wrapping some heat insulator around the A/C lines if you are gonna run without the heat shield...

I dont think the power steering bracket was in the way. Is the A/C line bracket the thing I have circled in the most recent pic? Where would I get heat insulator? I am planning on getting an aftermarket header.

yeah wrap that baby up with the heat wrap or you could wrap the header instead but that would take more effort and u might wanna like to look at your header but its up to you...

I was not talking about it being wrapped up, This is what you said:

I was asking if the A/C line bracket is what I had circled?

I dont understand why that bracket is holding you up. Tho I cant tell whats going on in those pics cause u can only see the hose and the top of the bracket. On mine the bracket is just bolted to the fan as you can see in the pictures. and the other part that is around the hose is just sitting there out of the way...

oh and there was one other thing that I forgot about. There is a bracket under the car that holds the low pressure a/c line that I also had off which allowed me to push that line thats closest to the heat shield back more. also you can unbolt the compressor and hold that back as well. The bracket is covered up by the plastic skid plate but with that off and someone holding the lines back you might be able to get it out like I said before. I didnt think it was gonna come out but I went to town on it and it finaly came out. Just dont brake the lines.
