Default Bad Lagging-H22a swap

I have searched this forum but have found no luck with an answer.
I have had my new motor(h22ain my Lude) for about 3 weeks and it has been doing this bad lag every once and a while. I have taken it back to the shop but when they go to test drive it doesn't do it. The shop is willing to fix what ever is broken but they cant fix something that they dont see broke. I have resorted to fixing it my self.
What can i do to fix it, or if anyone knows what is going on please help me.
I have replaced the plugs and wires, I am going to replace the fuel pump, and am thinking of replacing the fuel injectors and im also thinking of blocking or cleaning the EGR valve. This is all i can think about.

If anyone has any idea of what is going on please help!

Haha, this is the first problem I EVER ran into on my car, which got me started into these damn Hondas! Search in the Prelude forum for the term "hesitation", you'll get plenty of threads.....

I got a new motor swapped in and it bogged occasionally, like a flat spot in the acceleration. It would vary depending on temp and throttle, but it was there. I kept taking it back to the shop, and they said they'd fix it if they could feel it themselves while test driving, but it never did it when they drove it!

With my understanding of how these cars run and what I went through, I eventually found out it was the knock sensor. The KS goes bad and will start reading false knocks, resulting in times when timing gets pulled hard, resulting in a blip of no acceleration.

Don't replace the fuel pump; it's too expensive and rarely goes out. Try the fuel filter, as you've no doubt got some miles on the car, it's cheap, and it's easy.

i've had this happen in my h right after my swap too. I'm running on a p28 though, so no knock sensor. I replaced all my ignition components, and redid my timing belt 2 times trying to find the source of the hesitation. One day it just stopped. I have no idea what caused it, or what fixed it in my case, but it is really common.
