PowCon welders?
Thinking of picking up a used PowCon 300ST TIG/stick unit. anyone know if these machines are any good? will be used at home for random projects.
specs are:
230/460V 3 phase or 230V single phase
300 amps (with 3 phase input) or 200 amps (with single phase input)
Duty cycle is 60% at 300 amps (200 amps single phase)
capable of Tig, SMAW, and Mig welding
can weld aluminum in DCEP or DCEN, but it cannot do AC
The unit has a built in gas solenoid and capacitance start for Tig welding
also has a connection on back for remote torch control
they are still supported through arc products http://www.arc-products.com
any opinions?
