rebushing H22a1 rods to accept type s pistons
I know there are threads on this I have searched and read (many times)....never found an exact answer...
Background: '94 VTEC H22a1 165,xxx... burns an ***-load of expensive AMSOIL and possible clogged ports in intake manifold (??)....warrents a partial rebuild on a TIGHT Budget...thus I need to figure out and plan everything ahead of time.
Doing Pistons, rings and every seal I can think of...
Can anyone tell me EXACTLY What needs to be done to my H22a1 rods to PROPERLY accept the Type s pistons.
Does a larger hole need to be drilled in the rod? Is that it? If so can someone tell me the exact measurement the hole must be sized to? (need exact info for Honda-ignorant machine shops)
I ask because I rather not buy new rods (I'm poor) and although a Honda mechanic will be doing this he is not a performance shop or anything and he has no experience w/Type s pistons or re-bushing pistons.
Any advice is appreciated - THANKS!!
