Default '97 DX Manual Tranny Noise

Serious grinding going on when clutch is not engaged. Car Drive allright just loud as hell. And only when under a load. If your coasting or have the clutch engaged it goes silent. Is this the throw out bearing or input shaft bearing? Pulling tranny this weekend. Just want some insight so i dont get stuck with out the parts i need.

ISB..........

you'll need the bearing, seal, and both thrust washers,

I suggest HondaPartsDeals.com , then ship the quickest to our area.

Also remember the DX uses the smaller ISB, I happen to have the parts onhand if you need them.

Sounds good I may just pick up an extra tranny though. How much do you want if I do need them? Im yankin it Saturday and Tiptons has a 20,000 mile tranny so I may just pick it up and fix the old as a spare. Hit me up noles@zoomtown.com
Also where about Cincy are ya? I work up in Mason.

$40 for the parts, $100 if you bring me the tranny and I install them. I'll be on a tranny medic run to Michigan this weekend.........I'm near Fairfield, but have a buddy in Kings Mills.

Let me guess, $300 for a DX tranny/$350 for a EX tranny at Tiptons? Get a EX tranny if you can afford the extra $50

Tell Dave and Jim.......HI!

For the best gas mileage (highway mostly) wouldn't the DX trans be the best. This car is just for driving to work. about 60 miles a day highway. And they want 400 for the tranny it has 24,000 miles on it. think prices have gone up. I called around and if anyone locally has one they are getting 450 -500. Seemed high to me but low mileage 400 bucks i only have a grand in the car so far and this is all it needs. I was driving my 95 silverado that gets about 15 mpg so i will save the money i have in this car in about 3 months. I will still fix the old one to have a spare or sell it.
