tired the search, need help with dx tranny
My friends finished helping me swap a new 16y7 motor into my 97 civic coupe, and the motor and everthing runs fine, its just when my car is in idle, the tranny has a knocking and loud vibrating noise? It drives excellent, and the gears dont grind at all. Does anyone have a clue? Thanks.

If it only makes the noice when you're clutch pedal is on or out then it's either your throwout bearing or your input shaft bearing.
It could be a number of things though.

Re: tired the search, need help with dx tranny (ek forever guy)
ohh... Because when i push the pedal down and put it in gear, the rattling stops and when i put it to neutral the rattling noise comes back, and when i took my tranny off my old motor, my friend said my throw out bearing was kind of worn, but he said it was still legit to use. But thanks for the help...

I would replace the throwout bearing.
On any transmission swap I do and I'm unsure of the milage on the tranny or the last time it was changed I just replace those bearings anyway.
It's like $30 in parts and a good thing to do just in cases they aren't good bearings anymore.

Throw-out bearing is when the clutch is engaged, pedal down.
Input shaft bearing is when the clutch is disengaged, pedal up.
If it goes away when you step on it, it's the ISB ... time to crack open that tranny.
